Especially for the upcoming holidays of Christmas and New Year, I prepared this wonderful lesson on creating a bright greeting card. This work is very simple, and it can be done even by a novice Adobe Photoshop user, and before you begin, I suggest you look at the final result.
Create a new document size 1500? 1500 pixels with a resolution of 72dpi, RVB color 8bits.
Then add a new layer: Menu – Layers (Layer) – New (New) – Layer (Layer) (Ctrl + Shift + N) and fill it with gradient by going to the main menu – Layers (Layer) – New layerfill (New Fill Layer) – Rradiator (Gradient)
Then, open and paste the following image into our document above the gradient layer:
Change the blending mode of the layer to Linear clarifier (add) (Linear Dodge)
Now take the Tool Pen (Pen Tool) (P) in mode Layer Figure (Shape layers) and draw the following shape:
Add a second shape, as in the image below:
Select both layers with shapes, and merge them by pressing Ctrl + E (or right-click and in the drop-down menu select Merge layers (Merge layers)), and then right-click on the layer and go to Overlay options (Blending Options), go to layer style Gradient overlay (Gradient Overlay) and set the settings as in the image below:
Now take the Tool Polygon (Polygon Tool), in the settings of the polygon put a tick Star, put 5 for parties (Sides) and 60% for ray depths (Indent Sides By).
Then draw a five-pointed star, as in the image below:
Right-click on the layer and go to Overlay options (Blending Options) and set the settings as in the image below:
Switch to layer style Stroke, select the color # b3e3ee, and set the following settings:
Repeat the previous steps to create a second star in the center.
Next, select the layers with the drawn shapes and stars, duplicate them (Ctrl + J), and then merge them by pressing (Ctrl + E).
Now, for a new merged layer with shapes and shapes, create a blur: go to Menu – Filter (Filter) – Blur (Blur) – Blur in move(Motion Blur) and set the following settings:
Then create another blur by going to Menu – Filter (Filter) – Blur (Blur) – Gaussian blur (Gaussian Blur)
Now, place the blur layer below the primary shape layers and slide it slightly.
Take Tool Finger (Smudge Tool), and, using a tool about the size of about 79 pixels and an intensity of 50%, try making your blur sharper.
After that, create a new layer, above all layers: main menu – Layers (Layer) – New (New) – Layer (Layer) (Ctrl + Shift + N), take Tool Brush (Brush Tool) (B), round from 2 to 5 pixels and draw dots of white and blue # 4495c4 colors to get an effect similar to this:
Duplicate the layer, and slightly reduce the size.
And then, right-click on the layer and go to Overlay options (Blending Options), go to layer styles External glow (Outer Glow) with color # e6f1f7 and Color overlay (Color Overlay) with color # b3e3ee; set the settings as in the images below:
Duplicate the layer several times and position these layers as in the image below:
Create another layer, select the Stars brush, and add a few large stars.
Translator’s Note: To download a brush from the archive go to Editing (Edit) – Sets (Presets) – Kit Management (Preset Manager), select the type of set: brush – download-select the unzipped ABR file with a brush Stars – download.
For this layer, with large stars, adjust the layer styles External glow (Outer Glow) and Color overlay (ColorOverlay), as we did above.
Now write the text using the font “Indenture English”
The author writes part of the text, and applies to it the layer styles described below, and then, on another layer, writes the second part of the text.
And then right-click on the layer and go to Overlay options (Blending Options), go to the following layer styles:
Layer style Inner shadow (Inner Shadow):
Layer style External glow (Outer Glow) with color # deecf7:
Internal glow (Inner Glow):
Layer style Gloss (Satin):
Layer style Gradient overlay (Gradient Overlay):
Layer style Stroke (Stroke) with color # 1580b9:
And we get the following result:
Do the same for the second part of the text.
Create a new layer, again using the Tool. Brush (Brush Tool) (B) Star, add sparkling stars on the text.
Finally, add an adjustment layer on top of all layers: Layers (Layers) – New Adjustment Layer (New adjustment layer) –Map gradient (Gradient Map), select the gradient Blue, Red, Yellow, and change the layer blending mode to Overlap (Overlay), and reduce it opacity (Opacity) up to 12%.
And here, the end result is our beautiful New Year card!
