Create a futuristic poster in Photoshop

In this tutorial, by combining photos and various effects, we will create an incredible aged futuristic poster. By following step by step, you will learn how to create a picture from different elements.

Materials for the lesson:

Final image

Step 1. Create a document for the poster, the author used A3 paper sizes, and fill the background with white. If you plan to take your work to the printing house for printing, then do not forget to use a large resolution (between 150-300 dpi) and of course CMYK color mode.

Step 2. Create a group Layer – New – New Group (Layer – New – Group …), rename to “poster”. Then using the tool Rectangular marquee tool (M) (Tool “Rectangular Area”) draw a rectangle just 5 mm from the canvas itself on each side. Make sure that the group you just created is highlighted in the Layers Palette, then click on the “Add Vector Mask” icon on the same Palette at the bottom, or via the menu Layer – Layer Mask – Reveal Selection (Layer – Layer Mask – Show Selected Area). Download from the Internet and open the paper texture in Adobe Photoshop, then make the texture black and white using the command (Ctrl + Shift + U). Click (Ctrl + T) To invoke the Free Transform tool, resize the image a bit and place it in the “poster” group, change the layer Opacity to 40%.

Create the next “main” group (inside the “poster” group) above the texture layer. Create a rectangular selection as shown in the image below.

Select the “main” group and apply the mask Layer – Layer Mask – Reveal Selection (Layer – Layer Mask – Show Selected Area), as you did with the first group.

Step3. Download from the Internet and open the following Stars texture in Adobe Photoshop, and place it in the “main” group. You can resize if you need.

Through the menu Image – Adjustment – Hue / Saturation (Image – Correction – Hue / Saturation) open the Color Hue / Saturation settings or use the keyboard shortcut (Ctrl + U), Change the settings as shown below.

Create a new layer. For the base color, select desaturated pink. (#eebbfb), using a tool Brush tool (B) (Brush tool), brush soft, draw a stain; then blur it with a filter Gaussian blur (Filter – Blur – Gaussian Blur), radius 130 pixels Change the layer Opacity to 40% to soften the effect and blend with the background.

Create another layer (Ctrl + Shift + N), select green (# 2cbe7e), and using the Brush, draw another spot at the top of the canvas. Also apply a blur Gaussian blur (Filter – Blur – Gaussian Blur), radius 150 pixels

Change the blending mode Blending mode – Screen (Blend Mode – Lightening).

Layer Opacity to 15%.

Download the image of the Earth from the Internet and open it in Adobe Photoshop. Make a selection with the tool Elliptical Marquee Tool (M) (Tool “Oval area”) around the Earth, copy the image (Ctrl + C) and put in our main job (Ctrl + V). See image below.

Duplicate the Earth layer (Ctrl + J), apply a layer style as shown in the image below, then change the blending mode Blending mode – Multiply (Blend Mode – Multiplication).

Make a Ctrl + Click on the thumbnail of the layer with the Earth to form a selection around it. Create a new layer and fill the selection with black. Move the black area a little to the bottom right corner so that the texture of the planet looks out a little.

Through the menu Filter – Blur – Gaussian blur (Filter – Blur – Gaussian Blur) apply a filter with a radius of 100 pixels for the black circle, change the layer Opacity to 85%. This technique allowed us to create a shadow for the Earth.

Step 4. Download and open the aircraft image, cut with the tool Pen Tool (P) (Pen tool) and place the finished image of the aircraft in our main document. Using the Free Transform tool (Ctrl + T) change the size, angle and a little perspective, as shown in the image below.

Through the menu Image – Adjustment – Hue / Saturation (Image – Correction – Hue / Saturation) open the Color Hue / Saturation settings or use the keyboard shortcut (Ctrl + U), Change the settings as shown below.

Duplicate layer, change blending mode Blending mode – Multiply (Blend Mode – Multiplication), Opacity 70%.

Add adjustment layer Layer – New Adjustment Layer – Gradient Map (Layer – New Adjustment Layer – Gradient Map). Create a clipping mask so that the gradient map only affects the plane layer. To do this, click between these two layers with the key pressed Alt, or through the menu Layer – Create Clipping Mask (Layer – Create Clipping Mask). Change the Opacity of the Gradient Map to 60%.

Create a new document in Adobe Photoshop with the same size as the main one. Fill the background layer with black and apply the filter Filter – Render – Lens Flare (Filter – Rendering – Blick)

Move this layer to our main document, change the blending mode Blending mode – Screen (Blend Mode – Lightening), Opacity 90%. Expand the flare so that the diagonal lines lie parallel to the plane and increase its size to the size of the images in the “main” group as shown below.

It’s time to add an interesting inscription. Download a beautiful font from the Internet Futura Condensed Medium. Use large tracking around 200%.

Duplicate the text layer, rasterize it, and apply a blur filter to it. Filter – Blur – Gaussian blur (Filter – Blur – Gaussian Blur), radius 2 pixel.

Download the brush from the Internet Grunge photo edge. Choose gray for primary color (# c6bebb). Create a new layer and use the brushes you just loaded to paint over the edges of the poster. Experiment with the brush parameters to achieve an interesting effect, as shown in the image below.

In conclusion, we impose the logos of the companies Boeing and Yugoslav airlines.
