Create a spectacular movie poster in Photoshop

In this lesson, the author will show us how to create a simple, but rather impressive poster for the film in Adobe Photoshop.

To create this poster, the author used the attached pictures, however you can add, or use your photos of both the model and the background photo. Do not be afraid to experiment. Perhaps you can create something more beautiful.

If you pick up your background, consider the fact that it should be in harmony with the model and fit the style of this lesson.

I hope that you will gain a lot of knowledge during the implementation of this lesson.

Go!

Step 1

Open image with background (Ctrl +O), or simply transfer the image file to the program and name it Bg. Then, with one of the previously mentioned options, let’s open the image with the model. Call it woman and separate the model from the background. The author has already done this, so you will need to do it yourself.

Here are suitable tools such as: Pen (Pen), MagicWandTool (Magic wand), QuickSelectionTool (Fast selection) ColorRange(Color range), etc. To adjust the selection made, you can use the function RefineEdge(Refine edge), experimenting with sliders Smooth(Smoothing), Feather(Feathering), Contrast(Contrast), ShiftEdge(Change edge) for best effect. Then just place the model, as in the screenshot.

Step 2

Duplicate the model layer. Call it womanhair and place it under the original layer. Change its blending mode to Multiply(Multiplication). Now select both layers (woman and womanhair) and use the function Linklayers(Link layers). Now, for the layer woman, apply LayerMask( Layer mask). Now, with a soft black brush, gently walk through the hair on a white mask. Also, I advise you to view the entire model along the contour, since there could remain small pieces of white background, which can easily be removed on the same mask layer.

Step 3

Next, create a new adjustment layer. ColorBalance(Color balance) mode ClippingMask(Clipping mask) to layer Woman. Adjust the colors as in the screenshot.

and the result after color correction:

An alternative to this plugin, can serve as images that are attached to one of the source materials.

A screenshot with the layers palette is attached:

Apply the same blur, with the same settings as before. In order not to perform all the long operation, just use the key combination (Ctrl + F).
