In this tutorial we will draw glowing Christmas balls.
To complete this lesson you will need special brushes, you can download them HERE! Weight 8 MB.
Create a new document, Ctrl + N with dimensions 1280×1024 pix. and 72 ppi. Take the Fill tool and fill the document with this color320000.
Grab the Pen Tool (P Tool) * Tool Settings *
and draw a wavy line like in the picture.
It should turn out to be a layer with a figure in the layers palette. Click this layer twice to bring up a window Layer style.
Set the following parameters:
Shadow (Drop Shadow)
Color set – Black
External glow (Outer Glow)
Gradient overlay (Gradient Overlay)
As a result, you can do this:
Draw the Pen tool with another shape. Position the layer below the first shape.
Copy the Layer Style, for this purpose on the layer with the first shape (right click on the layer – Copy the layer style), and paste it on the layer with the second shape (right-click on the layer – Paste merge layer).
Draw another shape, place this layer above all layers. Also paste a layer style.
Create a new layer (icon on the layers palette) take the Brush tool, color white.
And draw a few points of different sizes. To do this, use the keys on the keyboard: Decrease brush [, Increase brush]
Change this layer Blend mode on “Overlay”
Draw “Pen” another figure. Turn off the Layer Style, the crossed out box in the tool settings, the color is white. You should have a white figure:
Set this layer to the following settings:
Fill opacity 0%
External glow (Outer Glow)
Internal glow (Inner Glow)
Draw some wavy lines in the same way and apply the same parameters to them (just pasting the Layer Style).
Select all the layers related to the white lines (hold down the Ctrl key and click on each layer). Now merge all selected layers (ctrl + E), apply to the resulting layer Filter \ blur \ motion blur (Filter> Blur> Motion Blur)
Blend mode change to “overlap”. That’s what you should do.
Take the Ellipse Tool (U) and draw several circles as shown in the picture (don’t forget to turn off the Layer Style)
On all three layers with circles, set these parameters in Layer Style:
Gradient overlay (Pay attention to the Mode!)
It turns out like this:
Go to the layer with the first ball. Create a new layer, select a brush from folder number 1 (link to the race of brushes at the beginning of the lesson)
Color set #F8E63A, make a brush print right on the ball. Hold key Alt and click between the layers (you will get a clipping mask) and the drawing will be just inside the ball.
Change the blending mode to the layer with the brush imprint on Spot light (Pin Light). Do the same with the other balls.
Go to the topmost layer, take the Line Tool (U) to draw the threads from the balls, set the colorFD9D00, Line size 1-2 pixels.
If the balls are located close and it turns out that the line passes over the ball, then simply transfer the layer with the line below the layer with this ball.
Take the next brush out folder number 2 (link to the race of brushes at the beginning of the lesson)
Create a new layer and paint in white on each ball such guns.
Change the blending mode to “Overlay”
Create a new layer and add more guns. Color take #F8F13B.
Here is our final result.
Good luck in doing the lesson.
