Original abstract wallpaper in Photoshop

In this lesson we will learn how to create bright abstract wallpapers. We will use different brushes, gradients and curves.

Let’s start!

Create a new document 1920 by 1200 pixels with a resolution of 72 pixels per inch. Add a new layer and select a round soft brush (Brush tool).

Using the brush, paint the document with the color # C29B40.

Take the tool Pen tool (Pen) change the parameter Drawing mode (Drawing mode) on Shape models (Models of forms) and draw the following form:

On the new layer using the same tool draw another strip below, changing the color to white:

Change the parameter of the last layer Fill (Fill) at 42% and apply the following styles to it:

It turns out like this:

Again take pen (Pen tool) and add another strip with # 63BA69 in black.

Add this gradient to the styles of this layer.

Set the following settings for the gradient (double-click on the block showing the color).

This is what should happen:

On the new layer, add another form right below the green one, as shown below:

Add the following styles for this shadow layer:

For the inner shadow:

And gradient settings:

Set the color of the gradient like this:

We get just such a beauty. It seems that something is already starting to appear:

Create a new layer and select a soft round. brush (Brush tool) 600 pixels.

Place this layer under the layers with the shapes. Next, change the parameter Opacity (Opacity) brushes by 20%, select color # 600901 and do a couple of strokes to make something like this:

Create another layer under the layers with the shapes and the same brush, but with the color # 441A16, add a dark area in the lower left corner.

Create a new layer and take a soft round brush (Brush tool) size of 215 pixels.

Again, place the layer under the layers with the forms and brush again in the bottom left corner with the color # 100B1A.

And again a new layer, and again under the forms. Change the color to white and lower the opacity value to 20%. We draw:

Again we create a new layer under the layer with the forms. Take brush (Brush tool) color # 80BDB9.

Brush on the right side of the bottom edge:

And for the hundredth time we create a new layer. Brush size – 370 pixels, color – white.

The layer must again be under the layers with the forms.

Change layer blending mode to Overlay (Overlap).

Create a new layer and take a hard brush. Further, by changing the diameter and opacity value, we randomly draw such bubbles.

Place a layer with bubbles under the layers with stripes.

Change the blending mode to Overlay (Overlap).

Create a new layer and take a soft yellow brush (Brush tool) size of 215 pixels and an opacity of 20%. Brush under the bottom stripe.

Place the layer under the layers with the forms.

Change the blending mode to Screen (Lightening).

On a new layer of white soft brush (Brush tool), changing the size and opacity, randomly draw “spots” on the main strip.

Place the layer on top of the layers with the forms.

Set the blending mode to Overlay (overlap).

Add a new layer and choose black soft. brush (Brush tool) with a diameter of 215 pixels and an opacity of 20%.

We draw this spot in the lower left corner.

Using tool Pen tool (Feather) on the new layer we add such a strip.

For new stripes, add layer styles. Shadow settings:

Inner shadow:

Gradient overlay:

The colors for the gradient are customizable as follows:

It should end up like this:

Using the tool Rectangle tool ( Rectangle) add the following white shape on the new layer.

Lower value Fill (Fill) up to 32% and change the blending mode to Overlay (Overlap).

Using the same tool, add a few more rectangles with the same value. Fill (Fill) and with the same blending mode. However, the fill parameter for the three rightmost rectangles should be 62%.

Merge all layers with rectangles into one group. To do this, hold down Ctrl, click alternately on all layers with rectangles to select them in the list of layers, and press Ctrl + G.

Add a mask to the group by selecting the group and clicking on the icon Add layer mask (Add layer mask). Press Ctrl + I to invert the colors, choose white as the foreground color. Using the tool Pen tool (Pen) on the mask, select the area that I marked below with a dotted line so that the rectangles are visible only there.

Create a new layer and take a round soft brush (Brush tool) with a diameter of 800 pixel and an opacity of 30%.

Color # 9AFFC6 paint over the area as shown below:

Change the blending mode to Color burn (Blackout basics).

Again, take the pen and add the following black strip:

Add another strip of blue # 56ADBE.

And one more beige # FFFDC0.

Hold Alt and click between the blue stripe layer and the beige stripe layer to add Clipping mask (Clipping mask).

Set value Fill (Fill) for this layer is 15% and change the blending mode to Vivid light (Bright light).

We merge these three layers with stripes into one group, as we did above.

Duplicate the group and rasterize the duplicate. Hit Ctrl + E to merge layers.

Apply to rasterized layer Filter – Blur – Gaussian Blur (Filter – Blur – Gaussian Blur).

We get:

Change the blending mode to Hard light (Hard light).

Create a new layer and take a round soft white brush (Brush tool) opacity 15%.

Brush it like this:

Create a new layer again and take a round one. brush (Brush tool) with a diameter of 270 pixels.

Choose color # 58A84D and opacity 20%.

Change the blending mode to Overlay (Overlap).

Create a new layer and take the standard soft brush (Brush tool) with a diameter of 60 pixels. Color – # 5C3422.

And spend it on the bottom right corner.

Create a new layer and take the same brush, but with black color and opacity of 20%, and paint the right and left lower corners.

Create a new layer and take the black soft. brush (Brush tool) at 370 pixels with an opacity of 15%.

We carry on the stripes.

Change the blending mode to Color burn (Blackout basics).

We press Create new fill or adjustment layer (Create a new fill layer or adjustment layer) and use the Curves option:

And everything is ready!

Hope you enjoyed the tutorial. Thanks for attention!
