Create a bright and summer 3D text in Photoshop

This tutorial will show you how to use 3D tools and material options in Photoshop, along with several images, filters, and adjustment layers, to create a summer text floating in the waves. Let’s start!

This text effect was inspired by many layer styles on the Envato Market.

Final image:

1. Creating background and text

Step 1

Create a new document 1000 x 800 pixels and place the image Wave on top of the background layer.

Resize the image as needed and rename it to Bg texture.

Step 2

Create 250 pt text using Brushe fontr.

2. Convert text to 3D layer

Step 1

Select a text layer and go to the menu. 3D> New 3D Extrusion from Selected Layer (3D> New 3D extrusion from selected layer).

Step 2

To access the 3D grid settings and properties, you need to open two panels: 3D and Properties (Properties) (both can be opened via the menu Window (Window)).

3D the panel contains all the components present on the scene. When you click on any of them, you can access its parameters on the panel. Properties (Properties). Therefore, before making any changes to the settings item on the panel Properties (Properties) make sure that the panel 3D the desired item is active.

Step 3

When choosing a tool Move Tool (Move) set appears on the top bar 3D Modes (3D modes).
