Step one. Create a 1000x1000px document (Ctrl + N).

Step 2. I made a quick sketch of the color palette. The colors we will use are: 1 – # f1d4af, 2 – # f7f1dc, 3 – # 805841, 4 – # 462513, 5 – # ff96af, 6 – # f55480, 7 – # a5c5c0, 8 – # c5e0dc.

Set the thumbnail layer opacity to 10%, blending mode Multiply (multiplication), place it above all other layers and block it.

Step 3. Create an ellipse on top of the cake using Ellipse tool (ellipse) (U) and color # 2 (f1d4af).

Duplicate the ellipse for the bottom of the cake, scale it and set the color to # 3 (805841).

Now make sure the bottom ellipse is selected (a vector mask should be selected), select Pen tool (pen) (P) and click the “add to shape area” button in the tool palette menu. Then create a shape like below.

Step 4. Create a new shape as shown below with color # 1 (f1d4af) and create a clipping mask (hold Alt and press the right mouse button between the layers or click the left mouse button and select Create Clipping Mask (create clipping mask)).

Duplicate this shape, and then select Direct selection tool (arrow) (A), raise the 3 lower anchor points, as shown below. Fill this shape with color # 5 (ff96af).

Step 5. Using Pen tool (pen) (P), create top cream, color # 5 (ff96af).

Step 6. Now let’s create the cake stand.

Duplicate the last ellipse and scale it.

Using Pen tool (pen) (P), add a shape as shown below.

Step 7. Using Pen tool (feather) (P), create frills on top of the cake, color # 2 (f7f1dc). Create a clipping mask for this layer (hold Alt and click the right mouse button between the layers or click the left mouse button and select Create Clipping Mask (create clipping mask)).

Now create a hole in the jabot. Using Pen tool (pen) (P) Click “subtract from the shape area” in the tool palette menu and create holes.

Step 8. Using hard brush 9px size and color # 6 (f55480), draw candy on a new layer. And draw candy on top of the cake with color # 5 (ff96af).

Step 9. Using the same brush and color # 3 (805841), draw chocolate on a new layer, as shown below.

And a little more chocolate on the bottom of the cake.

Step 10. Currently we have finished creating basic shapes, you can make the sketch layer invisible. Using a large brush with soft edges and color # 4 (462513) paint the shadows on the sides of the cake, set the layer opacity to 25% and blend mode Multiply (multiplication).

Now add light to the middle of the cake with color # 2 (f7f1dc). Set the layer opacity to 20% and blend mode Overlay (overlap).

Add a shadow under the frill and candy using a small hard brush with color # 4 (462513) and 20% opacity, Multiply blending mode.

And add shadows under the chocolate.

Step 11. Add volume to the candy. Draw highlights and shadows as shown below.

Now draw highlights and shadows on the edges of the chocolate.

Do not forget the top candy. Add shadows under candy, blending mode Multiply (multiplication). Add highlights.

Step 12. Duplicate the top ellipse, and raise it by 2px. Fill the bottom ellipse light yellow color # fffbef.

Step 13. Using a large soft-edged brush with color # 5 (ff96af) add shadows to the top cake cream, set the layer opacity to 30% and blend mode Multiply (multiplication).

Add highlights to the layer. Opacity 10%, blend mode Overlay (overlap).

Add glare to the cream.

Step 14. Now create the shadows from the cream. Hold Ctrl and click on the top layer with an ellipse to create a selection. Create a new layer and add a mask to this layer. On this layer, draw an ellipse with color # 3 (805841), as shown below.

Set the layer opacity to 10% and blend mode Multiply (multiplication).

Duplicate this layer, scale and set the opacity to 30%.

Step 15. Using a hard brush with color # 2 (f7f1dc), draw stripes on the cream. Set the blending mode Soft light (soft light).

Step 16. Select the top stand ellipse (stand for the cake), duplicate it and raise it by 2px, fill the bottom ellipse with a light color.

Step 17. Hold down Ctrl and click on the top layer of the stand to create a selection, create a new layer and add a mask to this layer. Paint the shadow of the cake with color # 3 (805841) and set the layer opacity to 10% and blend mode Multiply (multiplication).

Duplicate the layer with the shadow from the cake twice, scale them and set the first layer to an opacity of 20% and the second layer to 30%.

Create a new one ellipse color # 8 (c5e0dc) above the booth and grab a layer style to it. Double-click on the layer and select “Inner shadow”, set the parameters as shown below.

Step 18. Using a big soft brush with color # 7 (a5c5c0), draw the shadows for the stand, as shown below, set the layer opacity to 20% and blend mode Multiply (multiplication).

On the new layer, create highlights and set the blending mode. Overlay (overlap).

Add more white, transparency of the layer is 15%, blending mode Overlay (overlap).

Add more shadows with color # 7 (a5c5c0), layer opacity 15%, blend mode Multiply (multiplication).

Duplicate the stand frills and raise them 2px, fill the bottom shape with a soft color.

Draw white highlights on the edges of the stand.

Step 19. Via Custom shape tool (arbitrary shape) (U) select a shape in the form of rays. Transform a shape using Transform> Perspective (transform> perspective), and create clipping mask, as shown below. Set the blending mode Soft light (soft light).

Hold Ctrl and click on the top ellipse of the stand to select it. Then click Ctrl + Shift + I to invert the selected area. Select a layer with a ray shape and add mask this layer.

Step 20. Using a soft brush, add shadows to the leg of the stand. Set the layer opacity to 10% and blend mode Multiply (multiplication). Do not forget to draw shadows on new layers for each part of the stand and create clipping mask.

Now add gloss to white and set the layer opacity to 30% and blend mode. Overlay (overlap).

Similarly, add shadows and highlights to the bottom of the booth. Set the layer opacity and blend mode as shown below.

Step 21. Duplicate the top ellipse at the bottom of the stand. Then raise it by 2px. Fill the bottom ellipse with a soft color. Add white gloss spots.

Add a layer style Gradient overlay (overlay of the grid) to the upper ellipse of the lower part of the stand, as shown below.

Create stand shadows with Ellipse tool(ellipse) and Pen tool (feather), as we did before.

Step 22. Create another shape with rays. Transform the shape and create clipping mask, set blend mode Soft light (soft color).

Holding Ctrl, click on the top ellipse to select it. Right click, select Transform selection (transform the selected area) and scale the selection. Then create mask for a layer with rays.

Step 23. Now we will create the spots. Using a little tough brush with 100% opacity, draw small dots with colors and layer mode, as in the images below.

Step 24 At that moment I suddenly realized that I needed another layer of jam. Duplicate the pink layer, move it a few pixels down, and fill it with color # 6 (f55480). Create clipping mask.

Step 25. Now let’s make a shadow from the stand. Create multiple ellipses with color # 5c6967 and different opacity as shown below.

Step 26. Now add some spray. Use Ellipse tool (ellipse) holding Shift create circles with color # ffc5ce. Using Pen tool (feather) create drops with color # 5 (ff96af).

Select one of the bursts and add an Inner Shadow layer style as shown below. Right click on this layer and select Copy Layer Style (copy the layer style), then select all the splashed layers and right click. Select Paste Layer Style (paste the layer style), the same layer style will be applied to all layers.

On two layers, add glare to the drops using white as they added to the candy. Set the opacity to 50% and blend mode Soft light (soft light).

Step 27. Our cake is ready, now we will make a decent background for it, and, as we know, the best background for the cake is the polka dot background. Create a new document 70x70px.

Make 5 small circles as shown below. One whole circle in the middle of the canvas, and the remaining 4 in the corners. You can choose View> Show> Smart Guides (view> show> quick guides) to help you evenly place circles. Now hide the background and go to Edit> Define Pattern (edit> define pattern). Click OK, the new template will be added to the palette of your patterns.

Create a new layer above the background layer, fill it with the color # e3f6f3. Add a layer style Pattern overlay (pattern overlap), and select our new polka dot pattern from the pattern palette, it is at the bottom of the list. Set the scale to size 50%, opacity 50%.

Step 28. Now we make the tablecloth. Create a rectangle using Rectangle tool (rectangle) (U) with color # 2 (f7f1dc). Then set the layer style as shown below.

Step 29. Then create strips on the tablecloth, draw a new rectangle with the color # 1 (f1d4af). Via Path selection tool (outline selection) (A) highlight the rectangle and, holding Alt, drag it to duplicate. Make 8 rectangles, select them all with help. Path selection tool (contour selection) (A) and click on the “Center Spread Horizontally” icon to equal the distance between the rectangles.

Create clipping mask this layer. Using Transform> Perspective (transform> perspective), set the perspective for this layer.

Step 30. Now add the word cake using the font “VTKS black” with color # 3 (805841), font size 200-205pt. Place “Ca” and “KE” on different layers.

Set the layer style as shown below.

Right-click on the layer with the text “Ca” on the “effects” icon and select “Create Layers” so that the effects are on separate layers.

Select the “drop shadow Ca” layer and add a shadow to it. Also make a layer with the text “Ke”.

And the final touch. Using a little hard brush with an opacity of 20%, create white spots on the letters and set the blending mode to Overlay (overlap).

The final image.

That’s it, our cake is ready!
