Hi, this is my first lesson. I hope you enjoy it.
Today we will create a microphone.
Step 1. First, create a 5x5px document with transparent (transparent) background, fill it with black color, from where we erase then 2px, leaving something like this:
Note You can also not fill the document with black, but simply use the tool Pencil (Pencil) size 1px and hold them around the perimeter of our document.
Step 2. When we do this, go to the menu Editing – Define a pattern (Edit – Definepattern) and call this pattern at its discretion, I called it “Grid.”
Create another 600x600px document with transparent (transparent) the background in which we create a circle with the tool Oval selection (EllipticalMarquee).
Step 3. Then go to the menu Editing – Fill (Edit–Fill), choose the pattern you just created, but be sure to uncheck “Keep transparency” (PreserveTransparency).
Note When you open the window Fill (Fill) in the dropdown menu Use (Use) groups WITHontents (Content) select parameter Patterns (Patterns),then below you activate the dropdown menu User choice pattern (Custompattern), where you need to find a newly created pattern.
Step 4. The next thing we need to do is go to the menu. Filter – Distortion / Distortion – Spherization (Filter – Distort – Spherize) and set the value Amount (Amount) at 100% and mode (mode) set on “Vertical only” (VerticalOnly). Do not remove the selection yet!
Note In my opinion, in the screenshot, the author used the mode Normal / Normal (Normal), so here apply modes at your discretion.
Step 5. Now create a new layer. Place it under the grid, from which the selection has not yet been removed. Fill the circle with the tool Gradient (Gradient), set in the parameters radial (radiala) gradient (gradient).
Note The author used a radial gradient with colors474344 and #ffffff
Step 6. Already almost done! Only something is missing … Select the layer with mesh and go to the Embossing menu (Bevel and Emboss), apply the following settings:
Note To go to the specified menu, double-click with the left mouse button next to the layer name to open the window Layer Style (LayerStyle), where in the list select the specified option.
Note At this stage, you can merge the layers with the gradient and the grid, for which, while on the top layer (with the grid), press the key combination Ctrl+E.
Step 7. Create a new gradient similar to this:
Step 8. Now we will create a vertical rectangle, which we will copy twice, fill in one copy with the gradient we just created, the second with white, and the third with black. Here is how we arrange them:
Note To perform this step, create a new layer, use the tool Rectangle selection (Rectangularmarquee), draw a rectangle as shown in the screenshot, fill it with black, and then duplicate this layer twice (Ctrl+J). After that, select one of the copies of the rectangle, hold down the key Ctrl and click on the layer icon to load a rectangle selection, fill it with white. Do the same with the second copy, fill it with a gradient. Here a linear gradient is applied, which must be drawn from top to bottom.
Then we shift the black rectangle by 2 px to the right, and the white rectangle – by 2px to the left. It should turn out something like this:
Note You can make an offset and more pixels, experiment.
Go to the parameter Stamping (BevelandEmboss) and apply the following values to the gradient layer:
Note Do not be embarrassed if you have not the effect that the author. Then he obviously went astray with the settings, because no one else has done it as he has yet.
Create another rectangle, but thicker, fill it with a gradient, which we have already created:
Note Before creating a new rectangle, do not forget to create a new layer above all layers.
We now turn to Transformations (Transform) (Ctrl+T), hold down the Ctrl key, and, pulling the transformation markers, we give the rectangle the following form:
Step 9. He is a little big, but do not worry! Now we go to the menu Image – Canvas size (Image – Canvassize) and increase the right side of the canvas by setting dimensions 1140 by width (width) and 400px by height (heigh).
Step 10. Now let’s make a pen … of course, create a new layer and a rectangle on it. Fill it with a gradient that was created earlier.
Now we transform it in the same manner as we did in the previous step.
Go to the menu Image – Correction – Levels (Image – Adjustments – Levels) and apply the following settings:
Step 11. This is the final step! Just copy and transform in the same way!
And here is the final result!
