Futuristic beetle

Today we will draw such a bug.

To get started, upload a file with textures – Archive. Save Adobe Photoshop \ Presets \ Patterns.

Step 1. Create a new document File \ New (File> New) size 1024×768 px and resolution 72 pix / inch (dpi). On a new layer using the tool “Rectangle” (Rectangle Tool) (U) in shape mode, draw a rectangle of the same size as our document.

Step 2. Apply a layer style (double-click on the layer):

Step 3. Choose a tool “Ellipse” (Ellipse Tool) and draw the torso of our beetle in black (on the new layer, name the layer “torso”)

and apply the following layer styles:

Stamping\ Bevel and Emboss

Circuit\ Bevel and Emboss (Contour)

Step 4. Choose a tool “Pen” (Pen Tool) (P), in shape mode and draw a beetle’s head (on a new layer, name the layer “head”), color # 3E3E3E, edit the tool “Angle” (Convert point tool)

Apply the following layer styles:
Shadow\Drop shadow

Inner Shadow \ Inner Shadow

External glow \ Outer Glow

Embossing \ Bevel and Emboss (gloss contour: customized)
open the “Contour Editor” window (click the LMB on the window with contours) and set the contour as in the screenshot (save the created contour, we still need it).

Step 5. Using the same tools, draw a neck (on a new layer, name the layer “neck”, fill (Fill) layer 0%)

Apply the following layer styles:

Embossing \ Bevel and Emboss (gloss contour: customized)

Step 6. Using tools “Pen” (Pen Tool (P)) and “Angle” (Convert Point Tool) draw the left hard elytron (on the new layer, name the layer “left wing”), color # 6F6F6F

Apply the following layer styles:
Shadow \ Drop Shadow

Inner shadow \InnerShadow

External glow \ Outer Glow

Inner Glow

Embossing \ Bevel and Emboss (gloss contour: customized)

Contour \ Contour (contour: customized)

Step 7. Duplicate layer with left wing twice (Ctrl + J) and merge duplicated layers into one (Ctrl + E), on the menu Editing \ Transforming \ Flip Horizontal repulse the wing and move to the place of the right elytra

Step 8. Now draw our jaw beetle (on the new layer, name the layer “jaw”) using all the same tools “Pen” (Pen Tool (P)) and “Angle” (Convert point tool) color # D4D4D4. Place this layer on the palette below the layer with the head.

Apply the following layer styles:
Shadow \ Drop Shadow

Inner Glow

Embossing \ Bevel and Emboss (gloss contour: customized)

Contour \ Contour (contour: rounded steps)

Step 9. On the new layer, name the layer “left mustache”, draw the left mustache with the same tools,
Colour # A9A9A9

Apply the following layer styles:
Stamping\ Bevel and Emboss

Circuit\ Contour

Step 10. Duplicate layer (Ctrl + J) and Editing \ Transforming \ Flip Horizontal mirror the antenna – it will be the right antenna

Step 11. Let’s draw eyes with the tool “Ellipse” (Ellipse Tool) on the new layer, name the layer “left eye”, fill the layer 0%

Apply the following layer styles:
Gradient Overlay \ Gradient Overlay

Step 12. Duplicate the left eye layer (Ctrl + J), Ctrl + T, flip horizontally and move your right eye

Step 13. Now you need to really try and draw our beetle just such a foot (tools “Pen” (Pen Tool (P)) and “Angle“(Convert Point Tool)), color # C0C0C0 (on the new layer, name the layer “foot”)

Step 14. Make five copies of the last layer, transform (Ctrl + T) and arrange them as shown below. Layers with legs placed on the palette of layers under the layer with the body

Step 15. On a new layer, name the layer “blue” using the tool “Oval area” (Elliptical Marquee Tool (M)), draw a selection – this is our flame, fill the selection with a tool “Fill” (Paint Bucket Tool (G)), color # 224DD7, deselect (Ctrl + D).

Step 16. Create a new layer – “blue” and draw a new selection, fill it with color # 5BFFFF, deselect (Ctrl + D).

Step 17. Create a new layer – “white”, draw a smaller selection and fill it with white, remove the selection (Ctrl + D).

Step 18. For the blue flame layer, apply Filter \ Blur \ Gauss Blur (Filters \ Blur \ Gaussian Blur), radius 7.

AND Filter \ Blur \ Motion Blur (Filter \ Blur \ MotionBlur)

For the blue flame layer, apply the same filters as for the blue flame layer.

For the white flame layer, apply Filter \ Blur \ Gauss Blur (Filters \ Blur \ Gaussian Blur), radius 7.

Step 19. Drain three layers of flame. (CTRL + E). Duplicate layer (Ctrl + J), transform (Ctrl + T), mirror horizontally and position as below

Step 20. Create a new layer, select the tool. “Brush” (Brush) settings below, color # 55B4E7, let’s add a glow effect, blending mode for a layer (Blending mode) – “darkening basics” (Color burn)

Step 21 Add a jet engine bug (on a new layer) with the tool “Ellipse” (Ellipse Tool),

apply the following layer style settings:
Stamping\ Bevel and Emboss

Overlay gradient\ Gradient Overlay

Step 22 On the new layer, name the layer “hole”, with the tool “Ellipse” (Ellipse Tool) draw a hole, white

apply the following layer style settings:
External glow \ Outer Glow

Step 23. Merge all engine layers (“jet engine” and “bore”) (CTRL + E). Duplicate layer (Ctrl + J), transform (Ctrl + T) and move as shown below. All our beetle is ready!
