We draw a film in Photoshop

In this tutorial, I will show you how to create a film using Photoshop tools.

Step 1

Before we begin, let’s look at how all the layers are organized.

Step 2

Create a foundation. Add a new layer “Body”. Take Pen tool(Pen) (P) and create a shape, as shown below.

Step 3

Now apply a layer style.

Step 4

Take a soft brush (B), hold down the Cmd / Ctrl key and click on the thumbnail of the “Boby” layer to load its selection. Create a new layer “White_1”. Select white and draw a line as shown below. Set the layer blending mode to Overlay (Overlap).

Step 5

Repeat the process from the previous step on the right side of the base. Blend mode leave Normal (Normal).

Step 6

I used the same technique again, but this time I took black, set the layer blending mode to Overlay (Overlap) and Opacity at 42%. Look carefully at the following screenshot.

Step 7

Using the previous technique, add more light and dark spots.

Step 8

Create a new layer “Orange”. Take Pen tool (Pen) (P) and create a shape, as shown below. Fill it with the color # ffa657.

Step 9

Hold Cmd / Ctrl and click on the thumbnail of the “Orange” layer, create a new layer. Take soft brush (B), color # e2481d and draw as shown below.

Step 10

Create a new shape using Pen tool(Feather) (P), and fill it with white. Set the layer blending mode to Overlay (Overlap). Take the soft eraser (E), on the tool options panel, change opacity (opacity) and flow (push) by 50%. In the places noted below in the screenshot we hold the eraser.

Step 11

Again take Pen tool(Feather) (P) and create a small green shape. After that apply layer styles.

Step 12

Take Pen tool(Pen) (P) and create a shape, as shown below. Then press Cmd / Ctrl + Enter and fill the layer with the color # fdc161. Take soft eraser (E) and spend in the area indicated on the screenshot.

Step 13

Using the technique from the previous steps, add more light spots.

Step 14

Activate Vertical Type Tool (Vertical text) (T) and write the text. After that, click on the text layer with the right mouse button and select Rasterize type (Rasterize the text). Then click Cmd / Ctrl + T, right-click on the text and select Warp (Deformation). Warp the text to repeat the bending of the film. Using this technique, add more text.

Step 15

Take Pen tool(Pen) (P) and create a shape, as shown below. Hit Cmd / Ctrl + Enter and fill it with white, set the layer blending mode to Overlay (Overlap) and reduce Opacity (Opacity) up to 25%. Now select all the layers and press Ctrl + G to place them in a separate group. Call it “Body.”

Step 16

Create a new layer, use Pen tool(Feather) (P) to create the bottom of the film. After that apply the layer style.

Step 17

Repeat steps 4-6. Every time we create a new layer, use a soft brush (B) white and black colors, changing its size if necessary.

Step 18

Again take Pen tool (Feather) (P) and create the top of the film. Repeat step 16 and apply layer styles.

Step 19

We use the previously described technique to add glare on the film.

Step 20

We use Pen tool(Pen) (P) to draw the outline of the top of the film. Repeat step 16 and apply a layer style.

Step 21

Use again Pen tool(Feather) (P) to create a shape, as shown below, and fill it with the color # 232323.

Step 22

Copy the layer with the top of the film. Click Cmd / Ctrl + T, then right-click on the image and select Flip vertical (Flip Vertically), place the copy as shown below.

Step 23

Create the base of the inside of the film. Draw an ellipse using Pen Tool (Feather) (P) or Elliptical Marquee Tool (Oval selection) (M), and apply the layer style.

Step 24

Hold down the Cmd / Ctrl key and click on the thumbnail of the layer that we just created, above add a new layer and fill the selection with white. Take a soft eraser (E) and erase the area marked on the screenshot.

Step 25
