In this tutorial, you will learn how to draw an iMac in Adobe Photoshop.
As usual, let’s start with the final image of the lesson.

Create a new document size 600 x 600px, go to menu View> Show> Grid (View> Show> Grid) to activate Mesh (Grid), then go to Browse> Snap To> Grid Lines (View> Snap To> Grid) to snap the drawing to the grid. Click Ctrl + K, to open a window Installations (Preferences), then go to menu Guides, Grid, and Fragments (Guides, Grid Slices) and enter the values shown in the following screenshot. During the lesson, I will turn off the grid display (Ctrl + ‘) so that you can see better. The grid will simplify the creation of shapes.
Set the base color to # 070707, select instrument Rectangle with rounded edges (Rounded Rectangle Tool) and click on the document to open the “Create a rectangle with rounded edges.“(Create Rounded Rectangle).
Enter the parameters shown in the screenshot below, then click on the OK button.
Set the base color to # B4B4B8 and make sure the tool is selected Rectangle with rounded edges (Rounded Rectangle Tool). Click on the document again and enter the parameters as shown.
Select the newly created shape and place it as shown below.
Open the window Layer style (Layer Style) for the shape created in the last step and set such parameters.
Set the base color to # 949494 and select tool Rectangle (Rectangle Tool). Go to document, create shape by size 125 x 50px and place it as in the screenshot.
Now you need to set the grid through 1 px. To do this, simply go to the menu. Editing> Settings> Guides Grid and Fragments (Edit> Preferences> Guides, Grid Slices) and in the field Line every (Gridline Every box) write one.
Choose a tool Pen + (add anchor point) (Add Anchor Point Tool) make sure your new shape is sized 125 x 50px selected and add two reference points, as shown in the second screenshot.
For the next steps you will need a grid every 5 px. (Ctrl + K).
Activate the tool Node selection (Direct Selection Tool), in turn, select the two upper control points and drag them to 20 px to the center. In turn, select the two other control points added in the previous step and drag them to 15 px to the center.
Tip: for precise movement, use the arrow keys on your keyboard.
Activate the tool Angle (Convert Point Tool), click on the selected anchor points and drag the “handles” exactly as in the image below.
Open the window Layer style (Layer Style) for the shape edited in the last step and set the following parameters.
Duplicate (Ctrl + Ja) vector shape, edited in the previous step. Go to panel Layers (Layers panel), make sure your copy is selected, set Fill (Fill) on 0%, then open Layer style (Layer Style) and enter these values.
Set the grid through 1 px. (Ctrl + K)
Choose a tool Rectangle (Rectangle Tool), create a shape with size 125 x 4px and place it as in the first image below.
Choose a tool Pen + (add anchor point) (Add Anchor Point Tool) and add two reference points, as shown in the second image.
Make sure that the newly created shape is highlighted and move it below using the abbreviation Ctrl + Shift + [.
Activate the tool Node selection (Direct Selection Tool), then select the two lower anchor points and move them to 2 px up.
Open the window Layer style (Layer Style) for the last shape created (its size 125 x 4px) and set the settings as shown in the following screenshots.
For this step you will need to download the wallpaper.
Insert an image into the document, click Ctrl + T, resize it to 32 x 185px and place as shown in the screenshot below.
Open the menu Layer style (Layer Style) and enter these parameters.
Open one of the PNG files, select the tool Magic wand (Magic Wand Tool), hold down the key Shift and click on the white part of the Apple logo.
Scroll to the bottom of the panel. Layers (Layers panel) and click on the “Create New Layer“(Create a new layer).
Set the foreground color to full black. (# 000000a) select tool Fill (Paint Bucket Tool) and click on the selection.
Click Ctrl + D, to get rid of the selection and then click Ctrl + T. Change logo size to 11 x 13px and place as shown below.
Set the base color to #FAFAFA and select tool Fill (Paint Bucket Tool). Go to panel Layers (Layers panel), click on the background layer and fill it with the selected color.
Done! This is how the final result should look.
