In this lesson you will learn how to create a magic lighting effect.
At the end of the lesson you will get this kind of work.
Step 1. Create a new document (Ctrl + N), create a new layer, name it “Background” and fill with any color. Apply layer styles. To do this, double click on the layer. Add Gradient overlay (Gradient Overlay) and Overlapping pattern (Pattern Overlay.)
Step 2. Now add a cup. The author used his image, but you can use what you want.
Step 3. Select Tool Ellipse (U) in shape mode, color is white and create a circle like, in the picture. After that, apply the filter Blur – Gaussian Blur (Filter> Blur> Gaussian Blur) with a radius of 30px. Perhaps for your image radius will be less or more.
Step 4. Create a new group and name it “Light effects. “ Change the blending mode for the group to Lightening basics (Color Dodge) and move the ellipse you created to this group.
Step 5. To create sparks, we will use the brush settings. Add a new layer in the “Light Effects” group, name “Sparks”, take a white brush and set the brush settings as shown in the images below.
Step 6. Draw sparks and add layer styles. Double click on the layer, select External glow(Outer Glow) and set the following settings:
Step 7. Let’s add some smoke over the cup. Create a new layer and name it. “Smoke”. Change the blending mode for the layer to Lightening basics (Color Dodge). Take the tool Lasso (Lasso Tool), in the tool settings, set Feathering (Feather) 40 pixels and select the area as shown below. Then, set the default colors by pressing Dand apply the filter Filter-Rendering-Clouds (Filter> Render> Clouds.) Hint: Continue to apply the filter until you get clouds that you like best.
Step 8. Add the text you want and give it an interesting effect. Settings below.
Here is the result of our efforts.
One could have already stopped on this, but I suggest you take a few more steps and add an inscription-train.
Step 9. Choose a tool Horizontal text and write what you want. Then apply this layer Filter-Distortion-Wave (FiltrWave) Settings below: Create two layers with text and group them together ” Plume “
Step 10. Using Free transformation (Ctrl + T), rotate the text and place over the cup.
Place the “Train” group above the layer with the cup.
Step 11. Open the layer styles by double clicking on the layer and apply for each label External glow (Outer Glow). Use these settings as in the screenshot and experiment with Range (Range) and color.
Step 12. Duplicate the “Loop” group, place a copy below and until you turn it off, removing the eye on the layer. In the “Loop” group, add each layer with the inscription Layer mask , restore the default colors (D) and activate the gradient tool. Spend a gradient on each label so that the upper tips become more transparent.
Step 13. Let’s return to the “Flex Copy” group. Turn on the eye opposite the layer and remove the layer styles from each label. Apply Filter-Blur-Gaussian Blur (Filter> Blur> Gaussian Blur)
This will add a sense of movement to the text.
Well that’s all. These are the pictures obtained by the end of the lesson.
And this effect can be used like this.
