Materials for the lesson:
Step 1. Open the workfile.psd file and use the Tool on the first layer. radial gradient (Radial Gradient), set the colors: # 336699 and # 071c34. Create a New Layer and fill it with color. # 336699, go to the menu Filter – Rendering – Clouds (Filters> Render> Difference Clouds).
Step 2. In this step we will create a texture resembling seawater. To do this, you need to duplicate the previous layer. Go to the menu Filter – Sketch – Chrome (Filter> Sketch> Chrome), set the settings: detailing – 5, softening -4. Apply Overlay Mode – Multiplication (Layer Style to ‘Multiply) and Opacity – 25%.
Step 3. Now we need to put two guides on the document to divide it into four equal parts. Who works with the finished psd-file, they already exist. Now create a new layer and fill it with color. # 336699. Apply again Filter – Rendering – Clouds (Filters> Render> Difference Clouds).
Step 4. Select one of the parts, copy and paste to the New Layer. Stretch the entire canvas. Apply Layer Style to ‘Screen’ with Opacity – 15%. Turn off the visibility of the previous layer.
Step 5. In order to emphasize some details of our composition, select the Tool. Fill (Fill Tool), choose a color # 00FFCC and fill the layer, set Blend Mode – Saturation (Blending Mode – Saturation).
Step 6. There is a Dots.ai file in the downloaded file. Open it, copy the picture and paste it into our document. Add to this layer Layer mask and apply black and white Gradient (Gradient) top to bottom. The purpose of this layer is to control the transparency of the composition itself.
Step 7. Create a New Layer, apply again Filter – Rendering – Clouds (Filters> Render> Difference Clouds). Repeat Step 4. Just still apply. Filter – Blur – Radial Blur (Filters> Blur> Radial Blur), settings: degree – 100, method – linear, quality – good. Move the center to the upper right corner. Apply Layer Style – Color tone (Layer Style -Hue), transparency – 25%.
Step 8. Find a suitable image and open it in Photoshop. Discolor picture Image – Correction – Discolor (Image> Adjustments> Desaturate). Circle the shape with the Tool. Pen (Pen Tool), copy and paste to New Layer.
Step 9. Now we need to invert the colors on this layer. Push Ctrl+I. Go to Channel Palette and holding the key Ctrl, click on the top layer and copy (Ctrl + C). Go to Layers Palette and paste (Ctrl + V).
Step 10. Now our image is translucent. Go to the Menu Image – Correction – Hue / Saturation (Image> Adjustments> Hue / Saturation). Put a tick on “Tint” (Colorize) and set the following settings: color tone: 196, saturation: 44, brightness: -18.
Go to the menu Image – Correction – Levels (Image> Adjustments> Levels) and move the sliders to achieve the necessary contrast.
Step 11. Apply to layer Blend Mode – Glow (Blending Mode –Luminosity) and Transparency (Opacity) – 60%. Then duplicate the layer 4 times with these settings for each:
for the first, apply Gaussian blur 100 pixels (Gaussian blur), Overlay Mode (Blending Mode)– Glow (Luminosity), Transparency (Opacity) – 25%.
For the second: Glow (Luminosity) and Transparency (Opacity) 100%.
For the third: Glow (Luminosity), Opacity 25%.
For the fourth: Color tone (Hue), Opacity 50%.
Step 12. Apply to the second copied layer layer mask and on her soft brush with Opacity 25% black in black to hide and darken certain areas.
Step 13. Find two high-quality photos of falling water and repeat steps 9 and 10 for each of them, but without inverting the colors. Copy (Ctrl + C) and paste (Ctrl + V) them into our document and using the same layer masks remove from the photos of the zone that you do not want to show.
Step 14. Copy and paste the layers of water where you would like them to be. To distort the spray on the face Editing – Transformation – Deformation (Edit> Transform> Warp) and move the nodes of the correction frame to warp the layer. Those moments that seem unnecessary to you can be hidden by Layer Masks (Layer Mask).
Step 15. At this stage, everything except the background is transparent, so if you want, you can put something behind the image — even fish, mollusks, sharks — anything you want!
And here is the final result:
But what happened with me:
