In this tutorial we will look at a very beautiful and light abstract pop art effect for a photo.
Materials for the lesson:
To begin, select a suitable photo, such as an image of an owl.
Duplicate the image, right-click on the layer and select Duplicate layer (Create a duplicate layer), in the window that opens, click OK.
Select the duplicated layer, then open the Filter Gallery and select the one you need: Filter – Artistic – Cutout (Filter – Imitation – Application).
Change the settings according to the image below, then click OK.
Translator’s Note: Note that these filter parameters are for the image used in the lesson. For your photo, adjust the settings to your liking.
Again duplicate the layer, as described earlier, but the one to which the filter was applied.
Open the Filter Gallery and select the section Sketch(Sketch) filter in it Halftone pattern(Halftone pattern).
Change the settings as shown in the image below, then click OK.
Change the blending mode of this layer to Overlay (Overlap).
Below you see the image at this stage of the lesson. If you think that the goal of creating an abstract effect is fulfilled on this can be completed, if not, then we will continue to work.
Select the layer with the original image.
Duplicate the layer, then move the duplicate to the very top in the Layers Palette.
Change the Opacity parameter as shown below.
Enjoy the work received. The truth is easy and simple, and the result is excellent!
