Vintage photos seem to take us back to the past, to a completely different world. With this tutorial on creating an action in Photoshop,You can add the same old photo effect to photos.
Download the archive with materials for the lesson
Note: The author used paid materials. In the archive you will find an alternative version of the images to perform the lesson.
Open your image in Photoshop, and we will use this stock photo in the lesson.
Open the palette Operations (Window> Actions) (Alt + F9). Click on the “Folder” icon to create a new group, and then click on the icon create a new action (Create new action) and give it a name.
Go to menu Layer – New Adjustment Layer – Levels (Layer> New Adjustment Layer> Levels). Set the black point’s input value to 23 and the output value to 56.
Paste old paper texture onto canvas, set layer overlay To divide (Divide).
An important point! In order for the action to work, the texture image must remain in the same place on the computer where it was at the time the action was recorded.
Add 2 new adjustment layers: Curves (Curves) and Color search (Color Lookup).
In Curves, bend the line in the blue channel so that the yellow and blue hues appear in the photo.
In the “Color Finder” layer, select “FoggyNight”.
When done, click “Stop” (Stop) on the action palette. Then you can save it to use on other photos.
