Druid’s Eye

In this tutorial you will learn how to create an interesting collage using simple photo manipulations.

Here’s what happens at the end of the lesson:

Open the photo.

Create a duplicate Ctrl +J (restore default colors by pressing D, and then make the working color white – the key X), create New adjustment layer \ Color balance(New adjustment layer / Color balance)

Set the settings as in the screenshot:

Take the tool Lasso ((L) Lasso), feather 10px and create a selection under the eye:

Invert selection Shift +Ctrl +I and push Delete. Remove selection Ctrl +D.

Create a new layer, hold down the key Ctrl + click on layer miniature Color Balance1, the selection will load, fill it with black, go to the tab Filter – Noise – Addnoise (Filter – Noise – Add noise).

Change the blending mode to Lightening basics (Color dodge). Remove selection Ctrl +D.

Create New corrective layer\Color balance2 (New adjustment layer / Color balance2):

Take the tool Lasso ((L), Lasso), feather 10px and create a selection above the eye. Invert selection Shift +Ctrl +I and push Delete. Remove selection Ctrl +D.

Create a new layer, hold down the key Ctrl + click on layer miniature Color Balance2, the selection will load, fill it with black, go to the tab Filter – Noise – Add Noise or push Ctrl +F (Ie, we use the same settings).

Change the blending mode to Lightening basics. Remove selection Ctrl +D. Create New adjustment layer \ Color Balance3:

Take the tool Lasso (L) feather 10px and create a selection above the blue color. Invert selection Shift +Ctrl +I and push Delete. Remove selection Ctrl +D.

Create a new layer, hold down the key Ctrl + click on layer miniature Color Balance3, the selection is loaded, fill it with black, Ctrl +F (apply Filter – Noise – Add noise).

Change the blending mode to Lightening basics. Remove selection Ctrl +D.

Create New adjustment layer / Color balance4:

Take the tool Lasso(L) feathering 10px and create a selection over the yellow color. Invert selection Shift +Ctrl +I and push Delete. Remove selection Ctrl +D.

Create a new layer, hold down the key Ctrl + click on layer miniature Color Balance4, load selection, fill with black, apply Filter – Noise – Add Noise). Change the blending mode to Lightening basics. Remove selection Ctrl +D.

Create New adjustment layer / Color balance

Open the photo with the image of the wing:

Separate the wing from the background and transfer it to our document.

Open a new photo and place the layer above all, change blending mode on Overlap (Overlay)

and Eraser (Eraser) erase the pupil area (hardness 0).

Open a new photo

Change blending mode on Overlap and Eraser(stiffness 0) erase the pupil area again

New adjustment layer / Color balance

We take greens and transfer it to your document on your choice.

Add a highlight to our eye. Move on Layer1, create an oval selection of the pupil and copy to a new layerCtrl +J. Go to the menu: Filter – Rendering – Blick (Filter – Render – Lens flyer)

Change the blending mode to Lightening basics.
Create a new layer, click Shift + Ctrl + Alt + E and go Filter – Sharpness – Sharpness (Filter – Sharp – Sharp).

Take Dimmer ((O) Burn), exposure around 70% and paint the areas around the pupil and inside the eye.

Select the pupil, copy to the new layer Ctrl +J, fill the selection with black, go to Filter – Noise – Add Noise
amount 80%, by Gauss, Monochrome, change blending mode to Lightening basics.

Here is the final result:
