Rock n Roll Wallpapers

In this lesson, we, under the inspiration of such a wonderful musical direction as Rock and Roll, will create such wallpapers.

Materials for the lesson:

Step 1. Open the image of the girl in Photoshop. Now we need to separate it from this bright background. The author of the lesson used the first selection Pen , and then smooth the edges Masked layer . He enlarged the image to 200% and wielded Pen, highlighting the girl.

Note: This photo belongs to Janet Gulden, do not distribute or sell this image without permission! Thank.

When you singled out a girl using Pen , right-click to open the menu (see below). Select “To form a selected area” and press OK. After forming the selected area, click Quick masks at the bottom of the toolbar (or just click Q on keyboard).

In mode Quick masksunmarked areas will be highlighted in red. Using the tool Finger With a soft brush, try to “soften” the edges of the girl.

Press the button again. Quick masks (or Q) to see the selected area. Now we are ready to separate the girl from the background. Click Ctrl+J, to duplicate the selected model to a new layer. Rename it to “lady” (although not necessarily).

Step 2. We need more space for the background. Use the Frame tool. Select the entire image, and then pull the upper right corner, increasing the canvas to the size we need. Push Enter.

Use a radial gradient with a combination of light and dark red. On the screenshot below you can see which colors the author used. (# d5171d and # 790000). Make sure that you draw on the layer below the selected girl (you can on the Background layer – we don’t need it anymore).

Create a new document (press Ctrl + N) with dimensions 372x569px. Do not forget to choose white color as background. Press the button OK. Now use the Brush tool with the ornament loaded by us. How to load brushes, see below.

Now select one of these brushes. I used ornament_texture2. Choose pink or magenta (for example, # d21c68) and make one click on the new document.

Save this document as a texture: Editing> Define a pattern. Give her a name (the author chose flowery – flower). Go back to the document with the girl and create a layer between her and the layer with the gradient.

On the flower layer go to the menu Editing> Run Fill (or press Shift + F5). In the Fill dialog box, use a template filled with a floral pattern. Make sure the opacity is set to 100%, and now you can click OK.

For the flower layer, select the blending mode Multiplication and lower the opacity to 50%. Now the ornament is perfectly combined with the background-gradient.

Step 3. Copy the layer with the girl. Rename it to lady2 and change blending mode on Lightening (in other translations it may be “Screen”). Now press Ctrl + T to go to Free transformation and turn the girl a little to the left, as shown in the screenshot. Press Enter to apply the transform.

Use soft round eraser, to erase some parts of the image (marked in yellow on the screenshot below).

Copy the layer with the girl again. But now – move it below the original lady layer. Rename it to lady3 and change the blending mode to Lightening (in other translations it may be “Screen”).

Erase some parts of the image (marked in yellow) with a soft round Eraser.

Also on this layer apply Filter> Blur> Radial Blur. Set the settings to Good quality Ring blur. Take a radius of 5 to 10.

Step 4. Create a new document (File> New) sized 1500x300px. Using the tool Rectangle(see settings below) draw a long black rectangle.

In the style layer add Gradient overlay.
Gradient Parameters: Mirror; Scale 150%. The remaining settings – on the screenshot below.

Add more Shadow on this layer. Shadow Blending Mode – Multiplication. The remaining settings – on the screenshot below.

Now we make our rectangle oblique. On the layer with it, click Editing> Transform> Slope and tilt it as shown below. Click Enter. To apply the transformation. Next, go Editing> Define Brush. So we will create a new brush. Call her what your heart desires. Click OK.

Step 5. Let’s return to our document with the girl. Create a new layer on top of all the others. Choosing a tool Brush, you will notice that the brush just created from the rectangle is now at the end of the set. Choose her.

Click Ffive, to open the brush settings window. In section Imprint form brushes increase the interval to 500%, but we need the diameter to 500px.

ATTENTION: follow the arrangement of check marks on the screen! It is important.

In the panel Shape Dynamics – Size Swing set to 100% and set the minimum diameter to 50%. The remaining settings – on the screen.

Now in the section Scattering set the Dispersion to 150%, and the Counter to 2%.

You can save these brush settings to use in your other works. To do this, follow the tips on the screenshot.

ATTENTION: if you use a photo of another person, the size of your main document may be smaller, you need to reduce the size of the brush!

Step 6. Choose a pink or magenta color for the brush, and then pull it in the center from left to right.

Continue creating a light-colored flow effect using combinations of different colors. As you can see, the author uses blue, green, yellow and purple colors.

Copy the stream layer twice just by double-clicking Ctrl+J(I already taught you that). Rename them if you want to stream2 and stream3. After renaming, remove the original stream and its first copy by layers with a girl.

Click on the eye of the layer with the stream remaining on top to hide it (we do not need it yet). Set the original layer with the flow blending mode on Glow, and for the copy mode – Light up the basics and opacity by 55%. You can get confused in this, so make sure you do the same as on the screen.

In addition on the same layer (first copy) apply Filter> Blur> Blur in move. Settings: angle – 0, Offset – 500.

We return the visibility of the upper layer with the stream (now working with it), and using free transformation (Ctrl + T) rotate the stream so that it stands on the diagonal of our image. Click Enter, to apply our changes.

Now go to Editing> Transform> Warp. Modify the shape of the flow using control basis points. Perform manipulations similar to those shown in the screenshot.

Duplicate this layer with the stream (Ctrl + J), rename it and change blending mode on Lightening basics. Go back to stream3 and change it mode on Linear Dodge (add).

On the same layer apply Filter> Blur> Motion Blur. Set the angle to 45 and the offset to 500px. Everything. Click OK.

Well, not quite everything!

Step 7. This step will teach you to create another cool look for brushes. To begin, create a new layer at the very top of the Layers panel. Name it shine and change blending mode on Overlap. Choose soft round brush (about 20px) and go to the brush settings menu (F5 as I said before).
In section Brush Print Form change the interval to 196%.

Go to Form dynamics: Set the size variation to 100% and the minimum diameter to 0%.
Go to dissipation: Set the Dispersion to Maximum (1000%), the Counter to 1, and the Oscillation of the Counter to 100%. Before you use the brush for its intended purpose, you can save it (how to do it, see above).

Make sure the white color is the primary color. Now you can create a shine effect. Draw the brush as shown.

Use the tool Horizontal text Rock n Roll Wallpapers, to add a white inscription “ladyrocker”. You can use any font of any size. After, add a layer External glow in layer settings. Settings – below.

Create a new layer on top of all the others. Download the wing brush set. Look at the screen, which ones we will use.

Draw wings on either side of the inscription. Add to them the same glow as the inscription. You can also add something like a wing next to the face of the girl. To him, too, need to apply External glow.
