Draw a glossy folder in Photoshop

The image is an essential element in the set of any designer. Regardless of whether your project is simple or something exclusive, a good image will always come in handy. This lesson demonstrates ways to help you create your own glossy image.

Step 1. Let’s start by creating a new document, the author used Width – 600px, Height – 600px. Use Tool Rounded Rectangle (U), Radius – 20px, draw a rectangle as shown below, change the shape of the rectangle using the Tool Pen + (Add anchor point), place the anchor points as shown in the image.

Draw the image as shown in the screenshot. Use the tool Pen , adding pivot points. After adding reference points, use the tool. Arrow (A) to move points. The following should come out.)

Step 2. Select a shape in any way convenient for you. Fill with color – # 05b4ba, using Layer Style – Gradient Overlay.

Step 3. Name this layer Base. Ctrl + click on the layer thumbnail to create a selection. Create a new layer named Outside Stroke. Editing> Stroke. Apply 8px Stroke, Position relative to the border – Center. (You can use any color).

Change its Opacity to 60%.

Step 4. Now we have to create a shadow for the layer. Outside Stroke. To do this, you will need to duplicate the layer and move it under the main Outside Stroke. Layer> Layer Style> Color Overlay. Fill it with Black. Filter> Blur> Gaussian Blur. The radius is 0.9 px. Change the Transparency by 7%. You should have something like this.

Step 5. Select layer Base. Create a new layer and name it. Glow Overlay1. Fill it with white and move the selection down. Click Del. Change its Transparency to 7%.

Step 6. It is time to gloss. Use Tool Pen (P) and draw the shape as shown in the image. Name this layer Glow Overlay2. Change its Transparency to 11%.

Take the tool Eraser (E) Size = 100 Transparency = 50% and erase eye-catching areas. In places shown in orange, go Eraser 4 times, and where there is light green – 6 times
Change the layer opacity to 11%. Duplicate this layer and place below.)

Step 7. Select the “Base” layer again. Create a new layer and name it “Box Glow”. Fill it with white. Select> Modify> Compress, Compress 30px. Delete this area using the Eraser Tool (E). See image below.

Size = 40. Opacity = 50, use the eraser to mark the color 3 times

Step 8. All this is a matter of style and fantasy. You can apply your own styles and options.

Step 9. Our next step is to give this image a glass look. Create a new layer and name it. Glass. Take Tool Rounded Rectangle , Radius – 10px, Blend mode change to Glow. The steps in this step are shown in the image below.

Take Tool Eraser, Radius = 60, Transparency = 50.
In those places where it is shown in orange, go Eraser 6 times, and where turquoise – 4 times

Step 10. Now you need to create the edge of the glass. Draw the same shape using the Tool. Rounded Rectangle , select a shape Editing> Stroke, width – 1px, Position relative to the border – Center, color – white. Change blending mode layers on Overlap. Do the operations shown in the image using Eraser tool (E)

Step 11. Now type the text (your choice). Create a new group, name it Object Front, and put all the layers in this group.

Step 12. To create the back of the image, create a new layer under the Object Front layer and name it Object back, create a shape using the tool Rounded Rectangle , then apply the following Layer Styles.

Step 13. Now it’s time to add a glossy effect to the layer. Object back. Repeat the above steps to add gloss to this layer.

Step 14. Our next step: add a shadow to the layer Object back. Just make a small selection, as shown in the image and apply to it Gaussian blur. Overlay mode – Overlap.

Step 15. Create a New Group, name it Object back and place the layers in a group. After that, create a selection area on top of the image folder. Create a new layer above the Object Back Group. Name layer Head. Use the Pen tool to get the image shown below.

Step 16. Select the Head layer and create a new layer, name it Head stroke. Editing> Stroke, width – 1px, color – white. Add a glossy effect to this layer, but by yourself.

Step 17. Now we will create a label. To do this, follow the instructions provided in the image below.

Perform a 1px stroke on a new layer, Blend Mode – Overlap.
Apply layer styles Gradient Overlay, Internal glow.
Duplicate the layer and merge the two layers using Ctrl + E.
Set transparency to 43%.
Merge all layers, arm with the Oval Selection tool, create a circle and press Del. Create a new layer, get a selection of the circle (made earlier) and stroke the ring at 2px. Apply Layer Style – Shadow, Emboss, Gradient Overlay.
Having achieved the desired result, place the text (for your taste).

Step 18. Draw a string using the Tool. Pen . Apply Layer Styles to the rope layer as in step 17 to the hole in the label.

Step 19. To create a label shadow, follow the steps from Step 4, and erase external areas. Set the Transparency to 61%.

Step 20. Create a shadow for the image folder, placing it below all layers.

You can create a series of images using similar methods.
