Training:

Create a new document of 1200 × 2100 pixels with a resolution of 72. We will develop this layout for a size of 1000 pixels, so you need to add a column to create a custom network. In order to make it easier to work, I propose to set the guides (View – Guides) (View> New guide).

Step 1

Fill the background layer with #eee and tool Rectangle (Rectangle Tool) draw a white rectangle (#ffffff) at the top of the document. Add a mesh texture to the rectangle using the Pattern Overlay layer style.

Create a new layer (Shift + Ctrl + N) and tool Rectangular Selection (Rectangular Marquee Tool) draw a rectangle and fill it with black. Right-click on the rectangle and select Free transform (Free Transform), then select the mode Deformation (Warp) and reshape the rectangle as shown in the screenshot:

Apply filter Gaussian blur (Gaussian blur) to get this result:

Place a black rectangle under the white rectangle layer to create a shadow effect:

Create a new1 layer (Shift + Ctrl + N) and tool Region (horizontal row) (Single Row Marquee Tool) draw a selection area 1 pixel wide.

Now add more small details. Create a new document with the size of 500×500 pixels and a tool. Pen (Pen Tool) draw a soccer ball (you can trace the soccer ball image from the lesson’s resources).

Copy and paste the drawn ball into the layout that we create, reduce its opacity and place under the layer with the cap.

Step 2

Add a logo and search bar to the header. To create the logo we will use the font Harabara, and for other purposes the font Lucida Sans.
Tool Horizontal text (Horizontal Type Tool) write text using the color #dbdbdb.

Write the second line with the same text, but this time use the color # f2f2f2.

For the third line of text, use black (# 000000).

Draw a black rectangle (# 000000) with a tagline and a search rectangle.

Now draw a magnifying glass icon for the search bar. Draw tool Ellipse (Ellipse Tool). The width of the icon is 5 pixels.

Draw two simple rectangular buttons using colors # 97bd0e, # 029de0 and #ffffff (for text). Also, for the text on the buttons, add a layer style. Shadow (Drop Shadow).

Step 3

Using the guides, create a white rectangle and add shadow and stroke to it using layer styles. Shadow (Drop Shadow) and Stroke (Stroke):

Add a white callout and write black text on it using the Lucida Sans font. Also add a blue badge to the callout.

In the same way, draw other callouts with badges using different colors:

Step 4

In the same way as drawing callouts with badges, create an area for important articles and draw callouts for their categories. Draw gray lines with the tool. Line (Line Tool) 1 pixel thick.

Step 5

We proceed to the creation of the footer. The area under it draw tool Rectangle (Rectangle Tool), write the menu text tool Text (Horizontal Type Tool). If necessary, use guides to align objects.

Now create an illustration of the circle: tool Ellipse (Ellipse Tool) draw a proportional circle while holding down the Shift key. Add layer styles to the circle Shadow (Drop Shadow) and Stroke (Stroke).

Now draw a ball icon (for this you need to create a new document). When drawing, focus on the screenshot:

Copy and paste the drawn ball into the working paper and draw the remaining elements.

The symbol X and the arrow were drawn using the tablet, and then the layer style was added to them Shadow (Drop Shadow).

Step 6

Tool Rectangle (Rectangle Tool) draw a navigation menu at the top of the document. For convenience, use the net or guides.

Add the same layer styles to the rest of the buttons.

Also add any icons you like. I will use beautiful icons from Sebastiano (from lesson resources). Then fill the sidebar with a useful widget (you can use the previous methods to add text to the sidebar content).

Next, draw a white circle and place it in the bottom right part of the widget’s background. While holding down the Ctrl key, click on the thumbnail of this layer in the Layers palette to load the selection around the circle, go to the background of the widget and hold the Alt key and add a mask to this layer.
Add a soft shadow to the white circle layer using the layer style Shadow (Drop Shadow) and 1 pixel white stroke through layer style Stroke (Stroke). Now set the parameter Halive (Fill) 0% to get this result:

In the center of the previous circle, draw a smaller white circle and add text to it. After this, add a layer style to this circle. Inner shadow (Inner Shadow).
