Stylish layout for a portfolio in Photoshop

In this lesson you will learn how to create an elegant and stylish portfolio layout in Photoshop.

For the lesson you will need the following materials:

Fractal (Apophysis Fractal)

Pattern

Step one

Create a new document with dimensions of 1200 pixels wide and 1400 pixels high.

Step 2

Now make the tool active. Fill(Paint bucket Tool) and fill the background layer with white # ffffff.

Step 3

Tool Rectangle (Rectangle Tool) create a large rectangle and fill it with color # 000000.

Step 4

Using tool Pen (Pen Tool) create a winding path at the very top of the black rectangle.

Step 5

Right-click on the contour and in the menu that appears, select To form a selected area (Make selection). Then click the Delete button to clear the selected area.

Step 6

Again with the tool Pen(Pen Tool) create a contour, convert it to selection, as it was done above, and fill the selected area with color # 5e2b4f. Then repeat the same process with the outline and use the color for the new selection. # adadad.

Step 7

Open an image with a fractal and move it to your document, placing it in the upper left corner.

Step 8

Copy the fractal two or three times and place them in random places of your choice. Then click Ctrl + U, a correction window will appear Hue / Saturation (Hue / Saturation) where you can change the color of each fractal.

Step 9

Create a new layer, select the tool. Brush (Brush) round, soft, white and draw a few random points on the fractals.

Step 10

Using tool Brush (Brush) soft, round, 350 pixels. and color # feadda make prints in the upper right and lower left.

Now, if you wish, you can add a pattern to the background. The author hides while the pattern on their screenshots, so that it would be more convenient for you to view the addition of other details to the layout. You turn on the pattern later.

Tool Rectangle (Rectangle Tool) create a small rectangle in the center.

Double-click on the rectangle layer to open the layer styles. Add Gradient overlay (Gradient Overlay).

Create another rectangle and fill it with color. # 000000. In the layer style window, apply the style. Gradient overlay (Gradient Overlay)

Now set the layer style Shadow (Drop Shadow).

In this step, customize the layer style. Stroke (Stoke).

Activate the tool Arbitrary shape (Custom shapes) and select the arrow shape. In layer styles, apply a style to the arrow. Gradient overlay (Gradient Overlay). See the gradient settings below.

Create another arrow above the previous one and fill it with white. Repeat the same process and create arrows on the opposite side of the rectangle.

Now add a future image and apply a layer style to it. Stroke (Stoke).

Create a small rectangle above your image and fill it with color. # 694e63. Reduce him Opacity (Opacity) up to 80%. Now add your text above the rectangle, using the color # 585757.

Step 20

Choose a tool Text (Text tool) and add navigation items. If desired, you can add a pattern on the text.

Create a new layer. Hard, round brush with a size of 1 pixel and color # adadad draw dividers (lines) between navigation points.

Tool Rectangle(Rectangle Tool) create another rectangle with color # 202020.

Activate the tool Text(Text tool) and add text blocks on the created rectangle.

Hard, round brush with a size of 1 pixel and color # 7c7c7c draw delimiters between text blocks.

Create a new layer, select the tool. Rectangular area(Rectangular Marquee Tool) and create a selection as shown in the screenshot. Activate the tool Brush(Brush) soft, round and put prints in three different colors: # f68e56, # ed1c24 and # 856018.

Step 26

With the active layer with color spots go to the menu Filter – Blur – Gaussian Blur (Filter> Blur> Gaussian Blur).

Step 27

Activate the tool Text(Text tool) and add another text block at the bottom of the layout.

Add some images in the lower right corner of the layout and, if desired, add a stroke to them.

Tool Rectangle (Rectangle Tool) at the bottom of the page create another narrow rectangle with color # 202020.

Step 30

Add copyright and logo. Don’t forget to turn on the visibility of the pattern we made for the background layer.
