Hot Keys in Photoshop

I would like to tell you which keys on the keyboard are used most often when working in Photoshop. Using hotkeys will help to significantly increase the speed of work in Photoshop and significantly save time. Many combinations you may already know, and with some will meet for the first time.

Standard Document Operations

Ctrl + N – create a new document

Ctrl + O – open the document saved on the hard disk

Ctrl + S – save the document in PSD format

Shift + Ctrl + S – save the document as …

Ctrl + Alt + S – save for web

Escape cancel any dialog box

Ctrl + Z undo the last action performed. Pressing this combination again cancels the cancellation *

Alt + Ctrl + Z – return the change history one step back *

Shift + Ctrl + Z – move one step ahead in the change history

* Starting from Adobe Photoshop CC 2019 Ctrl + Z returns one step back

Calling frequently used tools:

“B” – brush

“E” – eraser

“H” – hand (the same action is performed by holding the Space key)

“L” – lasso

“M” – selection

“P” – feather

“T” – text

“V” – moving

Work with layers

Shift + Ctrl + N – create a new layer

Ctrl + J – create a layer by copying

Shift + Ctrl + J – create a layer by cutting

Ctrl + E – merge the layer with the bottom layer

Shift + Ctrl + E – merge visible layers

Ctrl +] – raise the selected layer one level

Ctrl + [ – lower the selected layer one level

Shift + Ctrl +] – make the selected layer the topmost

Shift + Ctrl + [ – make the selected layer the lowest

Allotment

Ctrl + A – select all

Ctrl + D – reset selection

Shift + Ctrl + D – return selection

Shift + Ctrl + I – invert selection

Alt key + selection – exclude part of the selected area

Shift + Selection – add a new area to the already selected

Alt key + clicked with the Brush tool select a color in the image

Image correction

Ctrl + L – open the “Levels” window

Ctrl + M – open the “Curves” window

Ctrl + B – open the “Color balance” window

Ctrl + U – open the “Hue / Saturation” window

Ctrl + Shift + U – discolor the image

Ctrl + Alt + I – open the window “Image size”

Ctrl + T – switch to the free transformation mode

Ctrl + Alt + G – create or cancel clipping mask

Colour

Ctrl + I – invert colors

“D” – set the colors black / white

“X” – swap colors

Scale control

Ctrl + Alt + 0 – view image at 100% scale

Ctrl + 0 – adjust the image scale to the window size

Ctrl + “+” – zoom in

Ctrl + “-“ – zoom out

Brushes

[ – reduce brush size

] –Increase brush size

{ – reduce brush stiffness

} – increase the rigidity of the brush

“,” – switch to the previous brush

“.” – switch to the next brush

“<» – switch to the first brush

“>” – switch to the last brush

Shift + Alt + P – enable airbrush effects
