Adjust the landscape photo in Photoshop

?In this lesson you will learn about enhancing landscape photos using “HDR-toning” and adjustment layers. Sunlight will also be created using gradients, and a function will be applied. “External channel” to create selective masking.

Step 1

To begin with, let’s open the image in Photoshop and immediately unlock the layer by clicking on it 2 times. Now select the entire Select-All image. (Allocation-All) (Ctrl + A). Copy it (Ctrl + C) and remove the selection (Ctrl +D).

Step 2

Now apply HDR rendering to the image. To do this, go to Image – Adjustments – HDR Toning (Image – Correction – HDR toning). Photoshop will warn you that toning will smooth out the document. Just agree and follow the specified settings. With the confirmation of the changes, the image will become brighter and the rendering settings will appear. Apply these settings and click Ok.

Step 3

Rename our layer to HDR and paste the layer copied at the beginning of the lesson. (Ctrl +V), which is called Original. Apply a Layer Mask to it. (Layer mask) and use the black and white gradient. Pay attention that all the checkboxes near Reverse, Dither, Transparency are on top. (Inversion, Blur, Opacity). Now, on the Original layer mask, draw a small, small gradient line from the central cloud to the path. So, the path should be much brighter. Play with a gradient and achieve a result that will suit you. For even more realism, on the layer mask, a soft black / white brush with Opacity (Opacity) and Flow (By fill) by 50% and dim / lighten grass tops and posts according to the light source.

Step 4

Create an HDR Gradient map adjustment layer for the HDR layer. (Gradient map). For the left slider apply color – 041a27, and for the right – d49d69. Apply, for this adjustment layer, the Vivid Light blend mode. (Bright light) and set opacity (Opacity) layer eleven%.

Above the Gradient Map Layer (Gradient map), create another Selective Color adjustment layer (Selective color) and apply these settings.

Step 5

Above the Original layer, create another Selective Color adjustment layer. (Selective color) with the specified settings and applies to the Original Clipping Mask layer (Clipping mask).

Step 6

Create a new Gradient adjustment layer. (Gradient). For the gradient, apply the settings of the left slider – onea4d98, and for the right slider – ffbb6b. Turn the gradient on 90 degrees so that the blue area is on top and click Ok. Apply, for this layer, the Overlay blending mode. (Overlap) with opacity 50%. Now the sky should get richer and more beautiful.

Create a new Gradient adjustment layer again. (Gradient) with settings from ffffff, next we set the color slider ffb55e, approximately in the middle slider with color 904904 and up 000000. Scale (Scale) put 120-160%. Gradient Radial and Screen Blend Mode (Screen). We should have something like the sun. Transfer it to the same place where the sun is hiding behind the clouds, because it will become brighter in the picture. If the sun is too big, you can reduce it by adjusting the gradient directly in the image.

Step 8

Now apply Apply Image(External channel) with the specified settings.

Step 9

Apply Levels Tool (Levels) and edit.

Step 10

Merge all layers into one (Alt +Shift +Ctrl +E) and apply the Multyply blend mode (Multiplication) with opacity thirty%.

Now we can see what happened! I hope that you enjoyed working with landscape photos and you will get real pleasure from working with corrective layers.
