Color correction of portrait in Photoshop

Final result

Step 1

Open the image with the female portrait in Photoshop.

Step 2

The original image is made in warm colors, so we use an adjustment layer. Photo Filter (Photo Filter). Install the filter Cooling filter (80), Density (Density) 60%.

Step 3

Next, using the adjustment layer Hue / Saturation (Hue / Saturation), reduce image saturation. Reduce the saturation value to -90%.

Step 4

Add another adjustment layer. Curves (Curves).

Add two points to the curve, one for shading and one for light. Set the points as shown in the screenshot below.

Step 5

Next, we will slowly restore the color shades on some parts of the model.

Click on the layer mask of the adjustment layer. Hue / Saturation (Hue / Saturation).

Choose a large black brush with Toughness (Hardness) 10% and Opacity (Opacity) 5%. Brush across the entire model with a single stroke.

Then, once again, go through the brush, but this time, excluding the hair area.

Paint the area around each eye.

Next, reduce the brush size. Using a small diameter brush, paint over the inside of the eye area, as well as around the edges of the eye image.

Also brush over the lips area, not necessarily to the edge of the lips.

Reduce the brush size one more time and also set Opacity (Opacity) brush 30%. So, paint over the iris of each eye.

Finally, with a brush that is only a few pixels in size and 10% opacity, paint over the darkest areas of the eyes and lips.

Next, set the brush opacity to 50%. Paint over the model’s necklace.

Step 6

Next, let’s go back to the layer with the adjustment layer Curves (Curves). Click on the layer mask of this adjustment layer.

Select a small size brush, set the mode in the brush settings Overlap (Overlay).

Paint over eyebrows to darken them.

Next, reduce the size of the brush to darken the eyelashes.
