STEP 1 Create a New Document

Create a new document (Ctrl + N) 1500 px in width 2000 px in height and set the background color to white, and the resolution value is 100 pixels / inch.

STEP 2

At the beginning, we use several textures to create a gentle background. Before starting, create a new folder “Textures” and download textures to this folder by the link at the beginning of this lesson. Next, open the “1.jpg” texture and move this texture to our document. Apply scaling to the texture Ctrl + T. Name this layer “Texture 1 ?.

Reduce the opacity of the texture layer to “30%”

Next, open the “8.jpg” texture by moving this texture to our document. Apply ctrl + t scaling to the texture. Name this texture layer “Texture 2 ?.

Change the blending mode for this layer to Overlap (Overlay) and reduce Opacity (Opacity) layer up to 65%.

Next, open the “2.jpg” texture by moving this texture to our document. Also, apply Ctrl + T scaling to the texture. Name this layer “Texture 3 ?.

Change the blending mode for this layer to Hard light (hard light) and reduce Opacity (Opacity) layer up to 45%.

STEP 3

So, open the Model image in Photoshop. We use the model image in our composition, therefore, we will need to transfer the model to our document.

Go to bookmark Channels(Channels) in the layers palette. Check each channel for the highest contrast content – in this case, this is the channel Green (Green). Holding the thumbnail of the green channel with the left button + drag the thumbnail to the button Create a new channel (Create new channel) located in the lower toolbar to duplicate the channel.

Next, press Ctrl + L to display the dialog box. Levels (Levels) and slide the slider Input value (Input levels), as shown in the screenshot below. Do not worry about some areas that remain light on the model:

Press Ctrl + L again to display the dialog box. Levels (Levels) and slide the slider Input value (Input levels), as shown in the screenshot below.

Next, select the tool Brush (Brush tool (B). Set the foreground color to black and then paint over the light areas.

Load feed as selection.

Next, apply an inversion to the selected image (Shift + Ctrl + I), and then add a layer mask.

Select any selection tool, then click. Refine edge (Refine Edge) in the top settings panel.

In the options dialog in the section View (View) click the down arrow and select a position from the list On layers (On Layers). Next, check the option Smart Radius (Smart Radius) and set the value Radius of Action (Radius field) 2.5 px. Next, we tick the options Clear colors (Decontaminate Colors) and set the value to 68% and click OK.

After you have executed the command Refine edge (Refine Edge), you will see that an additional selection appears, and the visibility of the original selection is hidden. Now, you need to drag the layer mask to the icon Delete layer (Delete layer) and in the window that appears, click To apply (Apply):

Move the model to our working paper. The result should be as in the screenshot below.

So, further open the Watercolor texture in Photoshop. We use this texture in our work, therefore, we will need to transfer the texture to our document.

Press V to activate the tool. Moves (Move Tool). Holding the image with the texture with the left mouse button, move it to our document. Name this layer ‘Texture 1’.

Change the blending mode for the watercolor texture layer to Multiplication (Multiply):

Next, select the tool again. Brush (brush), add a layer mask to the texture layer and start to paint around the texture in the layer mask. See screenshot below:

The result should be as in the screenshot below:

Next, add an adjustment layer. Color Balance (Color balance), this correction can be activated through the lower settings panel in the layers palette. Hold the Alt + key and click between two layers (between the layer with the watercolor texture and the adjustment layer Color Balance (Color balance) to create a clipping mask).

When the adjustment layer settings window appears Color Balance (Color balance), apply the following settings:

STEP 6

Next, open the image of the Blue Diamond in Photoshop. We use this image of a diamond in our composition, therefore, we will need to move the diamond to our document.

Choose a tool Magic wand (magic wend tool), click on the white background, and then apply the inversion to the created selection (Ctrl + Shift + I) / Next, move the selected diamond image to our document.

Next, select the tool Transformation (Transform tool (Ctrl + T), while the diamond layer should be active, apply scaling, as shown in the screenshot below:

So let’s work on the shadow. Create a new layer, name this layer “Shadow”. Next, create a selection below the diamond and fill the selection with black.

Next, go Filter – Blur – Blur by Gauss(Filter> Blur> Gaussian blur). When the window appears Gaussian blur (Gaussian blur), apply the following values:

Reduce the layer opacity to 85%.

Repeat the previous action, add more vector images. See screenshot below:

Select all the layers with vector images, and then group them (Ctrl + G). Next, reduce the opacity to 80%.

STEP 11

Next, let’s open the vector image with colors in Photoshop again. We use vector images in our composition, therefore, we need to transfer them to our working paper.

Next, go Selection – Color Range (Select> color range). When the settings window appears, apply the following values:

Apply an inversion to the selected image (Ctrl + Shift + I), and then duplicate the layer with the inversion (Ctrl + J).

The result should be as in the screenshot below:

Below the duplicate layer, create a new layer. Fill this layer with white (#ffffff). Next, select both layers and merge the two layers together:
