Have a nice day visitors to Photoshop-Master site. In this tutorial, we will create an interesting design for a digital photo frame.
First you need to find a suitable wood texture.
Materials for the lesson:
Now create a new document size 1280x1024 px and 72 dpi and place the texture in your document.
Add a bit of contrast to the texture (for this, the author used layer styles). On a new layer in the whole document using the tool Rectangle
(rectangle) (U) draw a rectangle (or just fill a new layer with any color).
Lower level Fill(fill) to 0%. Further Layer – Layerstyle – GradientOverlay (Layer – Layer Style – Overlay Gradient).
Mode – Soft light, opacity – 100%, radial gradient, angle – 141 degrees, scale – 130%, tick opposite “inversion”.
Gradient setting:
Create a new layer again and fill it with any color. With this layer we will dim the edges of the texture.
Lower level Fill(fill) to 0%. Further Layer – Layerstyle – GradientOverlay (Layer – Layer Style – Overlay Gradient).
The mode is normal, the opacity is 100%, the radial gradient, the color is from transparent to black, the angle is 141 degrees, the scale is 131%.
Gradient setting:
Now we will use this pattern. Click on the picture, File – save as … Next, open the picture in Photoshop.
Now save this picture as a pattern for Photoshop. Edit – Define Pattern (Editing – Define a pattern). We turn to the main document in which we make a frame for a photo.
Using the tool Rectangle(Rectangle) (U), draw a rectangle, which will be the basis for the frame. Use rectangle color # C3C3C3
Using FreeTransform (Free Transform), slightly rotate the rectangle as shown below.
Now apply to this layer Layer – Layerstyle – DropShadow(Layer – Layer Style – Shadow)
Settings: blending mode – multiplication, opacity – 89, angle – 120, offset – 11 pixels, size – 5 pixels.
Layer – Layer style – Pattern Overlay (Layer – Layer Style – Pattern Overlay)
the blending mode is normal, the opacity is 22, among the samples we select the pattern saved earlier.
Layer – Layer style – Stroke (Layer – Layer Style – Stroke)
Size – 6 pixels., Position – inside, blending mode – normal, opacity – 100, stroke color – white.
The next step is to load the archive with brushes. Swirls
Create a new layer, blending mode – ColorDodge (Lightening the basics). On this layer, using the loaded brushes, we will decorate the corners of the rectangle with an ornament. Use brush color # 959595.
Our image looks a bit sad – add colors, decorating the ornament in places where it goes beyond the rectangle. To do this, click on the layers palette Locktransparentpixel (Lock transparent pixels). Thus, the brush will only affect the color pixels.
For decorating we will use a round hard brush.
Translator Board: it will be more convenient to use a soft brush, this will allow to achieve a smooth transition between colors.

Using the tool Rectangle (rectangle), draw a rectangle on a new layer. For a new shape, the color will do. #DDDDDD. Choose a tool AddAnchiorPointTool (Add anchor point) add two nodes near the top right corner. Now we need DeleteAnchiorPoint (Delete anchor point) to delete a node that is directly in the upper right corner. So we get a bevel.
Click the right mouse button on the previous layer and select in the drop-down menu CopyLayerStyle (Copy layer style). Then go back to the layer with a rectangle with a beveled corner and right-click in the drop-down menu, select PasteLayerStyle (Paste layer style).
Choose a tool Pen
(Pen) and (on the new layer) in place of the beveled corner we will draw a triangular element – a curved corner on a sheet of paper, the color for the fill #DDDDDD.
Apply the following styles
Layer – Layer style – Drop shadow (Layer – Style layer – Shadow)
Settings: blending mode – multiplication, opacity – 89, angle – 120, offset – 4 pixels, size – 10 pixels.
Layer – Layer style – Gradient overlay (Layer – Style layer – Overlay gradient)
Mode – normal, opacity – 100%, radial gradient, color – from white to transparent, angle: -123 degrees, scale – 57%
Gradient setting:
Layer – Layer style – Pattern overlay (Layer – Layer Style – Texture Overlay)
blending mode – normal, opacity – 22, among the samples, select the pattern saved earlier, scale 100%).
Choosing a tool Rounded rectangle 
(Rectangle with rounded edges). On the tool settings panel (at the top under the main menu), set the corner rounding radius equal to 10px. Press D, to set the colors on the default color palette, then X, to change them, colors, places.
We draw a white rectangle in the center of the previous one, as if a window in the frame under the photo.
Apply the following parameters:
Layer – Layer style – Inner shadow (Layer – Layer Style – Inner Shade)
Settings: blending mode – multiplication, opacity – 75, angle – 120, offset – 1 pix, size – 5 pixels.
Select the photo that you are going to frame. (The author of the lesson used the auto photo).
Now, to insert a photo in the frame, we apply this trick: holding the key Alt Place the cursor between the two thumbnails on the layers panel (two round rings should appear) and click the mouse. This is what will appear on the layers palette.
Using FreeTransform (Free Transformation) or tool Move (V) (Move) Place your photo in a frame at a slight angle.
Now you can make a caption for the photo using the palette Character (Symbol) and tool HorizontalType
(Horizontal text)
