In this lesson, you will see another way to make old color photographs old.
Open your photo. Immediately duplicate the layer (Ctrl + J).
To give the photos an old yellow color, we will create a new adjustment layer. Color / Saturation. To do this, click on the button at the bottom of the layers palette and select Color / Saturation (Hue / Saturation)
Tick off Toning (Colorize) and set these values here:
Here’s what happened:
Go to the bottom (background) layer, click on the icon , at the bottom of the layers palette to create a new layer. Fill it with white.
Next, go Filter – Textures – Grain (Filter> Texture> Grain)
Change the grain type to vertical. We put the following values
Next, change the blending mode to Multiplication (Multiply)
Here’s what happened:
Let’s smooth out these bright streaks.
Add a Layer Mask, for which click on the button at the bottom of the layers palette.
Further Filter – Rendering – Clouds (Filter> Render> Clouds)
You can press several times Ctrl+F, to pick up an interesting pattern for the mask.
Now create a new layer and fill it. Editing – Fill – Gray 50% (Edit> Fill> 50% Gray)
Add noise. Filter – Noise – Add Noise (Filter> Noise> Add Noise). We put monochrome.
Change layer blending mode to Hard light (Hard Light)
