Step 30
It’s time to work with the model. Create a new layer below the model layer, add shadows to the model in the same way as you did it with the symbol, but this time, reduce the opacity of the shadow layer to 90% and the radius Gaussian Blur (Gaussian Blur) 7 px:
Using a layer mask, reduce the opacity at the bottom of the shadow:
Name this layer “Shadow 1 ?.
Step 31
Create a new layer and using a soft black brush with an opacity of about 30% -50%, add shadows to the areas under the model image:
Step 32
To fix individual parts on the model’s body, create a new layer on top of the model layer as a clipping mask. Choose a tool Stamp (Clone Tool):
Step 33
To remove the wound on the model’s nose, I used the brush, brush color # 8e5b52 (shade from the skin of the model), to paint over this area (of course, on a new layer):
Step 34
To make the model’s skin look smooth, create a new layer and, using a soft brush, brush color # bf7f6f, opacity and brush pressure, approximately 30%, paint over the model’s face, particularly in the cheeks, forehead and eyelids:
Do not overdo it, because You can lose the details.
Step 35
Create a new layer as a clipping mask, set the blending mode Overlap (Overlay), 100%, fill with 50% gray:
Choose a tool Clarifier / Dimmer
(Dodge and Burn), install Range (Range) on Mid tones (Midtones), and the value Exposure (Exposure) approximately 15-20% to strengthen the individual parts on the face and hair model. In the screenshot below you can see where I applied this tool during blending mode. Normal (Normal) and result in blend mode Overlap (Overlay):
Step 36
The model looks too bright in comparison with the background. We darken the model with a correction layer. Curves (Curves):
On the layer mask of this adjustment layer, hide the blackout effect on the model’s legs:
Step 37
I used several layers to change the focus, light and contrast.
Create a new layer on top of all layers, select the tool Gradient (Gradient Tool (G), select Radial Gradient (Radial Gradient), default gradient colors (black and white). Drag the gradient from top right to left to create a light source:
Change the blending mode for this layer to Soft light (Soft Light), 100%:
Add a layer mask to the gradient layer. Using a black brush, reduce the blackout on the left side of the desert:
Step 38
Add adjustment layer Levels (Levels) to enhance lighting:
On the layer mask of the adjustment layer Levels (Levels), hide the correction on the model’s hip, because I don’t want the hip to be too bright:
Step 39
In this step, we will add a red tint to the model image. Double-click on the model layer to display the window. Overlay options (Blending Options):
Result:
Step 40
It’s time to add sparks to the image. Create a new layer on top of all other layers. Set the brush color to # cb3c15, brush size 8 px. Press the key (F5) to apply the following settings for the brush:
Add sparks around the model, as well as on the background:
To the spark layer, apply a filter Gaussian blur (Gaussian Blur), blur radius 1 px:
Double click on the layer with sparks and in the window that appears, select the layer style External glow (Outer Glow):
Using a layer mask, blur the individual sparks:
Step 41
Change the blending mode for the spark layer to Lightening basics (Color Dodge), 100%:
To make the effect look better, being on a layer with sparks, press the keys (Ctrl + G) to create a new group for this layer. Change the blending mode for the created group to Lightening basics (Color Dodge), 100%. Name this group “Iskra 1 ?. You can see how the image got stronger:
Step 42
Create a new layer inside the created group. Using the same brush, reduce the brush size to 4-6 px, add more small sparks. Apply layer style External glow (Outer glow) with the same settings as in the previous step. Use a layer mask to remove any extra sparks.
Duplicate this layer, rotate the duplicate image with sparks. Place the sparks on the ground:
Step 43
Add more sparks to the foreground using a brush size of 10 px. Apply layer style External glow (Outer Glow) with the same settings, and also apply Gaussian blur (Gaussian Blur), blur radius 3 px:
Step 44
Add more sparks to the whole image:
To this layer with sparks, add an effect. External glow (Outer Glow), apply filter Gaussian blur (Gaussian Blur), blur radius 5 px, and also filter Motion blur (Motion blur):
Result:
Step 45
Increase brush size to 30 px to add larger sparks. Apply the following settings for this brush:
The result should be as in the screenshot below:
Using a layer mask, loosen the sparks:
Apply filter Motion blur (Motion blur) using the same settings as in the previous step:
Step 46
Create a new layer. Add more sparks. Brush size 10 px. For this sparkle layer, apply layer styles. External glow (Outer Glow), and filter Motion blur (Motion blur):
Using a layer mask, loosen the glow on individual sparks:
To create a spark effect, I used 7 layers. In the screenshot below, you can see the result:
Step 47
In this step we will add sparks to our scene. Create a new layer on top of all layers (on top of the ‘Spark 1’ group). Using the same brush, brush size 15 px, add sparks to the foreground:
Add a layer mask by processing the sparks on the layer mask:
To this layer with sparks, apply a filter Gaussian blur (Gaussian Blur), blur radius 3 px, and also filter Motion blur (Motion Blur) with the same settings as for the sparks in the ‘Sparks 1’ group:
I called this spark layer “Spark 2 ?.
Step 48
To this sparks layer, add an adjustment layer. Curves (Curves) to amplify and darken these sparks:
Step 49
So, it’s time to enhance the shades. First we will add some red hues to the model’s body. Create a new layer on top of all other layers. Using a soft brush, brush color # ff3700, paint the model’s hip and a little higher, and then change the blending mode for this layer to Chromaticity (Color), and also reduce the opacity of this layer to 30%:
Step 50
Create another new layer. Using the same brush, paint over the model’s shoulder to lighten this part. Next, reduce the opacity of this layer to 20%:
Step 51
To add red hues to the model’s body, create another new layer. Using a soft brush, brush color # 8a2f16, paint over the model’s face, shoulder, neck and model’s thigh. Change the blending mode for this layer. Soft light (Soft Light), 100%:
Step 52
Create a new layer. Using a soft white brush, paint over the model’s head and also along the pagan symbol to lighten these areas. Change the blending mode for this layer to Overlap (Overlay), 100%:
Step 53
Over all layers, with the tool Lasso (Lasso Tool (L), create an active selection of the lower right side of our scene, set the value Feathering (feather) 50:
Without removing the active selection, go Layer – New Adjustment Layer – Channel Mixing (Layer-New Adjustment Layer-Channel Mixer):
Here’s what we got:
Using adjustment layers for color correction of the image will give you more control if you have to change the settings at some point to get the effect you want.
Step 54
We had a beautiful blue effect, but we still need the effect to look more subtle.
Switch to the layer mask of the adjustment layer. Channel Mixing (Channel Mixer) and using a soft black brush with opacity and pressure ranging from 25-30% to 100%, hide and also reduce the blue effect on the model’s body. The mask technique hides the blue effect at the top of the composition, keeping the blue effect at the bottom of the scene. You can see my image processing result on the layer mask in the screenshot below:
Step 55
Add adjustment layer Curves (Curves) using the same blue and contrast correction technique. Position this adjustment layer below the adjustment layer. Channel Mixing (Channel Mixer):
The result of processing on the layer mask of the adjustment layer Curves (Curves):
Step 56
Add adjustment layer Vibration (Vibrance) on top of all layers to enhance the blue effect:
Step 57
Create a new layer. Using a soft brush, brush color # 0dc2e9, paint over the model’s hair. Change the blending mode for this layer to Chromaticity (Color), 100%:
Step 58
Create a new layer. Using a soft brush, color brush # 12c4e7, paint over the model’s face, hair, and model’s body. Change the blending mode for this layer to Soft light (Soft Light), 100%:
Step 59
Create a new layer. Draw a blurry curls of hair. Brush size 6-10px, brush color # 0dade9:
Step 60
To add blue shades to the curls of hair drawn, I used an adjustment layer Color Balance (Color Balance) as a clipping mask:
Step 61
Create a new layer with the same settings as for Step 35 (only in the window for creating a clipping mask, do not put a check mark). Using tool Lightening (Dodge Tool), add a light flare to the model’s cheek, and using the tool Dimming
(Burn Tool), darken a small area on the model’s knee:
Step 62
Next, we take time to create a red effect. Create a new layer on top of all layers. Using a brush, brush color # f64616, brush size 7 px, paint over a few curls of hair where red light falls from the sky. To this layer, apply a filter Gaussian blur (Gaussian Blur), blur radius 2 px:
Step 63
Create a new layer, reduce brush size to 1 px, brush opacity 50%. Using this brush, paint over small curls of hair:
Step 64
Create a new layer. Using the same brush, increase the brush size, add red hues to the model image, as well as to the symbol. Change the blending mode for this layer to Overlap (Overlay), and also reduce the layer opacity to 70%:
Step 65
Continue to add red hues to the neck, hip, waist, and arms, using the same color shade, but this time, change the blending mode to Soft light (Soft Light), 100%:
Step 66
To make the hair more red, use the same brush, brush opacity 50%, blending mode for this layer Overlap (Overlay), layer opacity 70%:
Step 67
To add light highlights to the model’s hair, use the # f9e665 brush color. Next, change the blending mode for this layer to Bright light (Vivid Light), and also reduce the layer opacity to 70%:
Step 68
Final step: Create a new layer and use the tool Clarifier / Dimmer
(Dodge and Burn), enhance the light glare, as well as the contrast on the model image and wings:
