Extravaganza dance in photoshop

Today I want to share with you several tricks on how to combine the images into one single composition. In this lesson I used the stock image of a ballerina. Ballet is one of the most fascinating types of performing arts! So let’s add some expression using light effects and nebulae.

Note: unfortunately, the author did not provide links to the materials used in the lessons.

Step 1

Let’s start our lesson by creating a new document. Let’s go File – New (File – New) or press the keys (Ctrl + N). Set your document size, click OK.

Step 2

Next, we need to create a background for our picture. I used the image of the night sky. You can use any stock image at your discretion.

Open stock image with night sky. Move this image to our working paper.

Step 3

Apply a gradient to the sky layer. Let’s go Layer – New Fill Layer – Gradient (Layer – New Fill Layer – Gradient).

Result:

Step 4

Open another stock image with a nebula.

We need to discolor the image, press the keys (Ctrl + Shift + U).

Step 5

Move the image with the nebula to our working paper. Using tool Eraser (Eraser Tool), in the settings, install a large soft brush, hide unnecessary parts of the image, as shown in the screenshot below.

Result:

Step 6

Similarly, add more images with nebula.

Step 7

Next, we add the image of the ballerina to our scene. Select the image of the ballerina with the tool Magnetic Lasso (Magnetic Lasso Tool (L) or use another method of selecting objects at your discretion.

Step 8

Move the highlighted image of the ballerina to our working paper. Next, on the ballerina layer, apply Layer styles (Layer Style). And also change the blending mode for the layer with the ballerina to Glow (Luminosity).

Result:

Step 9

Open the next image.

Step 10

Move this image to our working paper. Change the blending mode to Linear clarifier (Add) (Linear Dodge (Add).

Step 11

Open the next image. As always, move this image to our working paper.

Result:

Step 12

Open another nebula image. Move this image to our working paper. Apply scaling. Place the nebula layer below the ballerina layer.

Step 13

Correct Hue / Saturation (Hue and Saturation) images of the nebula to combine the nebula with the entire composition. From the nebula layer, press the keys (CTRL + U). Set the value Color tone (Hue) at 100 and using an eraser (100px diameter, 0% stiffness), process the edges of the image. Change the blending mode for this layer with nebula to Linear Dodge (Linear Dodge).

Step 14

Duplicate this layer with the nebula several times, arranging duplicate layers as you like.

My result in the screenshot below:

Step 15

Open another image. Move this image to our working paper. Apply scaling. Place the abstraction layer below the ballerina layer.

Step 16

In the same way, add more stock images. You can add as many images as you like. You can change blending modes, hue / saturation, and blending options for source images.

My result:

Step 17

Create a new layer with the following blending options:

Step 18

Next, we need brushes Light effects. Add light effects to our composition.

Step 19

Create a new layer. Using a soft, large brush, add a slight pink glow.

Step 20

Select the stock image we used in Step 9. Place the layer with this nebula texture on top of the layer with the ballerina. Next, change the blending mode for this texture layer to Linear clarifier (Add) (Linear Dodge (Add).

We have completed the lesson! I hope you enjoyed this tutorial.
