In this lesson you will learn about the methods of masking and blending modes, learn how to adjust the color balance, as well as use textures to create the impression of an old picture.
Open the image with the beach, we will use it as a background for overlaying the rest of the photo.
Open the next tree image and place it on top of the background.
Using the tool Pen (Pen) (P) select the left part of the image and delete the excess. Add a layer mask and a big soft to the trees layer. Brush (Brush) (B) with Opacity (Opacity) about 30-40% make a soft transition between images.
Duplicate the image with the trees and flip the copy horizontally through the menu Edit>Transform>FlipGorizontal (Edit> Transform> Flip Horizontally). Place the image on the right side of the canvas.
Now open the image of the chapel and place it in the center of the working canvas on a new layer. Add a layer mask and use a large soft Brush (Brush) (B) black make a soft, gradual transition between images.
Open the image with the girls and place it on a new layer. Change the layer’s overlay mode to Screen (Screen).
Next, open the texture image and place it on a new layer above all layers. Change the layer’s overlay mode to SoftLight (Soft light).
All elements are placed, now proceed to the color setting. Add a correction layer above all layers. Hue/Saturation (Hue / Saturation) and set the settings as in the screenshot:
Next, add an adjustment layer. ColorBalance (Color balance)
Then add an adjustment layer. PhotoFilter (Photo Filter)
Create a new layer above all layers. Next, press Ctrl + A to select all layers and go to the menu Edit>Stroke (Edit> Run Stroke), specify Width (Width) 20 px. Color # 000000. Deselect by pressing Ctrl + D.
Next, go to the menu Filter>Blur>GaussianBlur (Filter> Blur> Gaussian Blur), specify Radius (radius) 83.3 px and decrease Opacity (Opacity) layer up to 50%.
Add some text.
And customize the layer styles:
All is ready!
I hope that this lesson will help you to make your picture by combining several images and using blending modes, as well as adjusting colors.
