In this tutorial, you will learn how to transform simple images into an incredible concept using various Photoshop techniques.
To get started, download the image archive. Create a new document of 1500 x 2000 px, Resolution (Resolution) 72dpi, RGB color 8 bits. Then add a fill layer. Gradient (Gradient), for this go to menu Layer> New Fill Layer> Gradient (Layer> New Fill Layer> Gradient).
Add a new layer (CTRL + SHIFT + N), take the tool Brush (Brush) (B), select the shape of the brush №45 “The difference in brightness for each stroke.”
Then apply a Gaussian blur through the menu Filter > Blur > GaussianBlur (Filter> Blur> Gaussian Blur).
After that, reduce Opacity (Opacity) up to 15%.
Create another layer, load a Smoke brush and add some smoke as shown below.
Decrease Opacity (Opacity) up to 5%.
Then import the cards, poker chips and dice into the document and arrange them as shown below.
Next, select the maps that are closest to the screen and apply a Gaussian blur.
Now create a new layer, select all the objects; To do this, hold down the Ctrl + Shift key combination, click on the layers one by one, take the tool Brush (Brush) (B) is black and add internal shadows as shown in the image below.
Then add an adjustment layer. Hue / Saturation (Hue / Saturation) through the menu Layer > NewAdjustmentLayer > Hue/Saturation (Layer> New Adjustment Layer > Hue / Saturation) and reduce Saturation(Saturation) up to -42%.
Similarly add an adjustment layer. Levels (Levels).
Now import the following model image into the document and position it as shown below.
Then go to the overlay options
After that go to menu Image> Adjustments> Hue / Saturation (Picture > Correction > Hue / Saturation).
Add a fill layer Solid color (Color) black through the menu Layer> New Fill Layer> Solid Color (Layer> Fill New Layer> Color) and make it a clipping mask for the model layer via the menu Layer> Create Clipping Mask (Layer> Create Clipping Mask).
Decrease Opacity (Opacity) up to 82%.
Since the object is completely covered with black, we need to erase some parts of the fill layer, to do this, go to the fill layer mask by clicking on the thumbnail of the latter. Take Brush (Brush) (B) with the following parameters:
- Size (Size): 20 px
- Hardness (Hardness): 0%
- Opacity (Opacity): 60%
- Flow(Push): 30%
Then, brush around the edges to mask the fill layer effect.
Select the layer with the model and the fill layer, group them through the menu Layer> New> Group Layers(Layer> New> Group of layers), then go to menu Layer> Layer Mask> Reveal All (Layer> Mask Layer> Show All).
Go back to the mask and hide the legs of the model.
Now select any brush shape: heart, diamond or square, then go to the shape window option (F5 button) and specify the following values.
Create a new layer, take Brush The (brush) you just created and draw the red particles as shown in the image below.
Now create another layer and draw smoke in the legs with Opacity (Opacity) 5%.
Then import the following texture into the document.
Discolor it through the menu Image> Adjustments> Desaturation (Image> Correction> Desaturate) (Shift + Ctrl + U).
Finally, change the blending mode to Screen (Screen) and reduce Opacity (Opacity) up to 50%.
And here is the final result of the Mafia and Poker lesson.
