Step 1

Create a new document, go File – New (File – New) or press the keys (Ctrl + N).

Set the following parameters for the new document: Width (Width): 2500 px, Height (Height): 1944 px, Background Content (Background Content): Transparent (transparent).

Step 2

Open the model image. Next, with the tool Pen (Pen Tool), highlight the model image. Finishing the selection is necessary at the same point where you started creating the selection outline.

Step 3

As soon as you close the contour, right-click on the document and in the dialog menu that appears, select the option To form a selected area (make selection).

Next, select the New Selection setting option, and then click OK.

The result should be as in the screenshot below.

Step 4

Press Ctrl + J to duplicate the selected image of the model on a new layer. Move the selected model image to our working paper. The result should be as in the screenshot below.

Step 5

Add a base on the background. In this case, you can use a shade of blue without saturation that is too high; reduce the opacity to 90%.

Step 6

Move the image with the stones to the background. Next, apply the scaling to the image with the stones in accordance with the size of the working document. To scale, use the tool Free transformation (Free Transform (Ctrl + T). When scaling, hold down the Shift key so that the height and width parameters change proportionally to each other, while the image will not be distorted.

Step 7

Let’s go Image – Correction – Hue / Saturation (Image – Adjustments – Hue / Saturation (Ctrl + U) and set the saturation value to -40, press OK to accept the values.

Step 8

Next, select the tool Eraser (Eraser (E). Eraser go over the sky area, leaving only stones. Brush set soft round, brush size 600 px.

Step 9

Next, change the blending mode for the layer with stones to Hard light (Hard light).

Step 10

Open image with mountains. Move this image to our working paper. You can always resize an image with the tool. Free transformation (Free Transform (Ctrl + T).

Step 11

Reduce the opacity of the layer with the mountains to 80%, then select the tool Eraser (Eraser). Walk with an eraser on the stones.

Step 12

Add a cloud image to our working paper to add more clouds to the sky.

Step 13

Change the blending mode for the cloud layer to Soft light (Soft Light).

Step 14

Add another image with mountains to our working paper. Using the eraser, hide the extra areas of the image.

Step 15

Change the blending mode for the layer with mountains to Soft light (Soft Light) and reduce the opacity of the layer to 70%.

Step 16

Add the Fractals texture to our scene to enhance the color shades of our scene.

Step 17

Change the blending mode for the texture layer to Soft light (Soft Light) and reduce the opacity of the layer to 50%.

Step 18

If you think that the colors of the image are hard, go to the layer with the mountains that you added in Step 10, and then change the blending mode for this layer to Soft light (Soft Light) and reduce the opacity of the layer to 90%. The result should be as in the screenshot below.

Step 19

Add light and shadow behind the image of the model. To do this, create two separate layers. Paint it with a soft round black and white brush, as shown in the screenshot below.

Step 20

For the layer where you applied the white brush, change the blending mode to Soft light (Soft light) and reduce the opacity of the layer to 60%.

For the layer where you applied the black brush, simply lower the layer’s opacity to 85%.

Step 21

Let’s light up the legs of the model a little bit. To do this, go back to the original model layer. Select the foot area with the tool. Lasso (lasso tool), then, press Ctrl + J to duplicate the selection to a new layer.

Step 22

Next, change the blending mode for the selected foot area to Lightening (Screen) and reduce the layer opacity to 60%.

Step 23

Select the skin area with the tool. Lasso (lasso tool), then, press Ctrl + J to duplicate the selection to a new layer.

Step 24

Let’s go Image – Correction – Hue / Saturation (Image – Adjustments – Hue / Saturation) and set the value Saturation (Saturation): -30.

Step 25

Using a soft round blue brush, brush size 2px, paint over the model’s eyes. Also paint the eye lens with a black brush and the eyeball with a white brush.

Step 26

Go to the original model layer. Highlight lips with the tool Lasso (lasso tool), and then, change the color of the lips to soft pink with the help of color correction (Ctrl + U).

Change the blending mode for this layer to Multiplication (Multiply) and reduce the layer opacity to 50%.

Step 27

To make your lips gloss, duplicate the layer on which you performed the lip color correction, and then change the blending mode for this layer to Soft light (Soft light).

Step 28

Create a new layer, change the mode for this layer to Multiplication (Multiply). Next, paint a pink soft round brush over the model’s cheeks. Do not forget to reduce the opacity of the brush to 70%.

Step 29

Reduce the opacity of the blush layer to 50%.

Step 30

Using a soft, round, brown-colored brush, paint over the eyebrows and then on the painted eyebrows, apply the tool Blur (Blur) to soften them.

Step 31

Using a soft, round brush of purple hue, paint over the eyelids to create eye shadow.

Step 32

Next, change the blending mode for the eyelid shadow layer to Multiplication (Multiply) and lower the layer opacity to 70%.

Step 33

Choose brushes Hair, add strands of hair so that they look more natural. You can also go through the instrument. Blur (Blur) on the strands of hair, so that they are softer.

Repeat the process several times until you get the desired result.

Step 34

Choose a tool Free Feather (freeform pen tool). Create a new layer and on the new layer, on the model’s face and clothes, draw contours.

Step 35

Set the brush to white, brush size 2 or 3 px, because you will draw outlines with the tool Free Feather (freeform pen tool).

Step 36

Select tool again Free Feather (freeform pen tool). After drawing the outlines, right-click on the document and in the window that appears, select the option Outline the contour (Stroke Path).

Next, in the outline settings, tick the box Simulate pressure (Simulate Pressure) tool set Brush (brush).

Step 37

The result after creating contours.

Next, using the tools Blur (Blur) and Finger (Smudge Tool), correct the drawn contours so that they look softer, as in the screenshot below.

Step 38

Next, reduce the opacity of the layer with contours to 60%.

Step 39

Same as what you did in step 19, create 2 new layers, one to create lighting effects, and the second to create shadows. Choose a soft round brush. To create shadows, use a black brush, to create lighting effects a white brush.

For shadows: blending mode Normal(Normal), layer opacity is 50%.

To create lighting effects 1: blending mode Normal (Normal), layer opacity is 50%.

To create lighting effects 2: using a small brush, paint over image details, blend mode, Soft Light,

Step 40

Add a butterfly image to our working paper. Apply filter to butterfly image Motion blur (Motion blur in), let’s go Filter- Blur- motion blur (Filter – Blur – Motion Blur).

Apply the following settings for the filter:

Angle: 28

Offset (Distance): 13

Step 41

Add texture to our working paper. Filter the texture Gaussian blur (Gaussian Blur), for this we go Filter – Blur – Gaussian Blur (Filter-Blur – Gaussian Blur).

Apply a blur radius of 100 px.

Step 42

Change the blending mode to Soft light (Soft Light).

Step 43

Add a forest image to our working paper.

To the image of the forest, apply the filter Gaussian blur (Gaussian Blur), for this we go Filter – Blur – Gaussian Blur (Filter-Blur – Gaussian Blur). Apply a blur radius of 150 px.

Step 44

Reduce the saturation of the layer using the color correction Ctrl + U. Let’s go Image – Correction – Hue / Saturation (Image – Adjustments – Hue / Saturation (Ctrl + U) and set the saturation value to -100, press OK to accept the values.

Step 45

Change the blending mode for the forest layer to Soft light (Soft Light), and reduce the layer opacity to 70%.

I hope you will get an excellent result using the technique of this lesson.
