The heyday of the planet – Part I

Good day . I want to share with you my lesson. It will require: perseverance, inspiration and delicious tea (coffee).

Create a new document (note the “color profile”: sRGB).

Double click on the background layer (to unlock), click “ok”.

Choosing a tool “fill. Set the foreground color to # 014761, fill in “Layer 0”.

Drag the image “Sky” into our document. Place it over “Layer 0”. Choosing a tool “Move. Place the “Sky” layer approximately in the middle of the canvas:

We transfer the image “Earth” to our document. We place above the layer “Sky”. Moving on: “Editing – Transforming – Perspective (tilt) “. Edit the” Earth “layer:

Copy the layer “Earth” twice (standing on the layer, press the combination “Ctrl +J“). Place the copies in such a way as to cover the remaining blue surface (the” move “tool). Edit the” Earth copy “and” Earth “layers. Go to:”Editing – Transforming – Perspective (incline)”:

Add to all layers of the “Earth” layermasks. Soft black brush (pressure: 40; opacity: 40), standing on the masked layer, we process the edges of all three images.

Create a new layer on top of all layers (key combination “shift + ctrl + n”). Let’s call it “Stamp”. Choosing a tool “Stamp. Set the following parameters:
– mode: normal
– opacity: 55
– push: 25
– sample: all layers

Select the land (holding the “alt“) and fill the blue areas of the planet:

Stand on the “Stamp” layer, hold down the “” shift “and click on the” Earth “layer (to select a number of layers). Click the combination” ctrl + e “(to merge layers). Name the resulting layer” Surface “.

Add a layer mask on a layer of “sky” and soft black brush (standing on the mask) process the place of transition “Sky” in “Layer 0”.

Stand on the “Sky” layer. Create a new layer above it. Fill “Layer 1” with # 7fecf3. Create another layer above the “Sky” layer. Fill “Layer 2” with color # 4ab1df. “Layer 1” and “Layer 2” are used as a clipping mask for the “Sky” layer. (right click on the “layer 1” select from the submenu “Create clipping mask”).

Change the blending mode “Layer 1” to “Color tone” (fill 50).
Change the blending mode “Layer 2” to “Color”:

Duplicate the “Surface” layer. Apply to the “Surface” layer: “Filter – other – color contrast“(radius 4.5). Change the layer blending mode to”Overlap“. Apply layer mask . We process the area (away from us) soft black brush .

Adjustment layers are applied to the “Surface copy” layer (as clipping masks):

Color balance

“Hue \ saturation”

“Color” # 000001. Blend ModeSoft light“(opacity: 75; fill: 35)
Linear gradient“(black to white). Blend mode”Soft light“.
Levels“(opacity: 60; fill: 40):

Layer Layer:

We have already given the overall color to the image. But the earth looks “boring.” Add a little light and shadow. Create a new layer above the “surface” layer. Apply it as a clipping mask. Come on: “Editing – fill – use 50% gray“. Change the blending mode of the new layer to”Overlap“. (also use it as a clipping mask). Name the layer“ Brightening ”.
Choosing a tool “Clarifier with such parameters:

We process convex areas and craters.

Repeat STEP 13. Only working with the tool “Dimmer. To work, create a new layer “Fade”. We process hollows.

Note: for convenience, I applied the “surface” layer as a clipping mask.

From the obtained layers we will create two groups. We become on the layer “Sky”. Hold down the ” shift “, then left-click on the” layer1 “. We get the selection of the three layers. Press the combination” ctrl + g “. We get a group. Name the whole group” Sky “. Do the previous steps and form the group” Earth “(it will include the layers” surface “and all higher ones, which we used as clipping masks).

The planet is ready for landing;).
I open the image “Tree” in the new document. Cutting a tree from the general background using the tool “Pen (the crown of the tree is simply outlined along the contour without cutting the leaves). We transfer the tree to our work. Name the layer “Tree”.

Next, go: “Editing – Transforming – Flip Horizontally“.
Add to layer mask . Soft black brush (pressure: 50; opacity: 50) paint over the tree crown and its roots.

We form the crown of the tree. Open the image “White Tree”. Go to the tab “Channels”. Using this lesson, we cut the crown of the tree. Move the white crown to our collage.

Name the layer obtained from white wood – “crown”. Create another 3 copies of the crown layer (crown 2, crown 3, crown 4). Layers “crown 3” and “crown 4” – fill the “tree” under the layer. The “crown” and “crown 2” layers are above the “tree” layer.

Using toolsTransform-scaling“and”Transformation – Warp“- simulate the crown of a tree. You can delete the excess on new branches with the tool”Eraser or add a mask and process unnecessary details with a black brush:
Note: Form a crown according to your desire. You can add other branches. For example, I added another green branch

From the resulting layers with elements of the tree, create a group of “Tree”.

STEP nineteen

Toning a tree trunk. All layers listed below are used as clipping masks. Layer of layers will look like this:

Copy the layer “tree”. Standing on a layer of “tree” go: “Filter – other – color contrast – radius 2“. Change blending mode to”Hard light“. We get on the“ tree copy ”layer. Create a new layer (it will automatically be created as a clipping mask) and call it“ Toning ”. Take a round brush, Set the color to # 4ac2dd. We draw a tree trunk on the right side (where the bark is almost white). Change the layer fill to 50 and the opacity to 50.

Create a layer “Color balance“:

Hue \ saturation“:

Set the layer opacity to 50. Add layer mask and draw black brush green tree crown and hollow. New layer (“Layer 6″). Choosing a tool ” Gradient. Set the colors:

– Blue: # 417589
– brown: # 5f4f44

Change the blending mode to “Soft light“. Add a layer mask to the gradient layer and draw the green tree crown with a black brush.

Add a new layer (“Layer 8”). Perform: “Editing – fill – use 50% gray“. Change the blending mode of the new layer to”Overlap“. We work with the tool”Dimmer above the roots and the trunk (focusing on general lighting).

Add a new layer (“Layer 9”). “). Perform:”Editing – fill – use 50% gray“. We change the blending mode of the new layer to” Overlap “. We work with the tool”Clarifier. Total:

We process layers with a tree crown. The principle of processing will illustrate on the example of the central branch. The remaining branches are entered into the collage in the same way.

– Double click the “crown” layer. Go to the layer style and select “Inner shadow“Set the color # 91e6f9 blend mode”Screen“:

Right click on the “crown” layer – choose “form a layer”. To the resulting layer “inner shadow crown” add mask and process the left edge of the branch black brush (on the layer mask). Double-click on the “crown” layer. Go to the tab “shadow”.

Right click on the “crown” layer – choose “form a layer”. We get the “shadow crown” layer. Hold down the “ctrl “and click on the” crown “layer (we get the selection of the layer). Turn”Selection – Inversion“(we get the selection of the background). Using the tool” eraser “- remove the extra shadow (I prefer to use the layer mask).

Create a new layer above the “Inner Shade Crown” (as a clipping mask). Fill it with a linear gradient “from black to white” (from the lower left to the upper right). Set the blending mode of the layer “gradient” to “Soft light“.

Create a new adjustment layer “Color” (as a clipping mask). Fill it with # 52cbe6 color. Blend mode “Chromaticity“(opacity: 50; fill: 50).

Under the layer “shadow crown” create a new layer “glow 1”. Take a soft round brush (push: 50), set the color to # b4f0fd, brush size 700-600. We make one click in the central area of the branch. Come on “Filter-blur-blur according to Gauss – 3.5 “radius. Opacity: 50.

Layer Layer:

If you are satisfied with the result – you can finish processing the tree.
I decided to remove “crown4”, and also changed the color of green leaves, making them colder. You can experiment with foliage – your planet is your rules.

The color of the leaves can be changed by various methods. I used the usual round brush. Created a new layer. Painted the leaves in blue, changed the blending mode to “Color tone“.
