Source materials:

Create a new Photoshop document with dimensions Width(Width) 700px Height(Height) 900px, Resolution(Resolution) 72px / inch. You can choose a different size, but some settings in the lesson depend on the image size and resolution. Insert an image with the street and remove most of the bottom dark road from it.

Go to menu Edit -> Transform -> Warp (Edit -> Transform -> Warp). Move the corner markers and center arcs so that the fish eye effect is applied.

Download the image with the surface of the water. You can choose one image with white foam in the center and two simple photos. Create a new document twice as large as the main document with a future illustration.

The width must be greater than the height, so the new document must be horizontally oriented. Place a photo with water foam in the center of the document, and two other textures to the right and left of it. Combine all three textures.

Duplicate the merged layer and move one merged layer up and the other down. Merge all layers again.

Then go to Warp transformation(Warp) select Arc(Arch) and install Bend (Bend) -100

Drag the converted water texture to the main document above the “Street” layer. Apply Free transformation (Free Transform) if you want to get a similar result, as shown below. Squeeze the layer of water a little vertically.

Add a layer mask to the surface of the water, and then erase the area below the curb.

Add adjustment layer Hue/Saturation (Hue / Saturation), apply the same settings as in the image below. To apply the adjustment layer settings to the layer below, right-click on the adjustment layer and select Create Clipping Mask (Create clipping mask). Use the same method for all future adjustment layers.

Then adjust the colors in the adjustment layer settings. SelectiveColor (Selective Correction)

Then add an adjustment layer. Levels (Levels). Add a mask to the adjustment layer. Levels (Levels) and fill it with a black and white gradient from the bottom left to the right to the top corner of the water surface.

Now back to the building layer. Duplicate it. Go to menu Edit> Transform -> Flip Vertical(Edit -> Transform -> Flip Vertically). Move the image with the street down. To fix the upper edge of the reflection, cut out part “1” and move it up a bit, and then cut part “2” and move it just below part “1”. Apply Warp(Deformation) to part “3” as well as in the image below.

Merge all three layers.

Create a clipping mask for the surface of the water from the “Reflection” layer. Apply Opacity (Opacity) 73% and fill it with a black and white gradient to create a smooth transition.

Duplicate the layer with the original surface of the water and place it above all corrective layers of water and above the layer with reflection. Go to menu Image-> Adjustment-> Blackand white (Image -> Correction -> Black and White). Then select Image -> Adjustment -> Levels (Image -> Correction -> Levels), move the white and black markers to the center until you get the following result.

Create a clipping mask for this layer. Apply blend mode Screen (Screen).

Insert an image under water.

Add a layer mask. Create a waveform with PenTool (Pen) mode Path (Path) (You can see the outline in the upper right corner of the screenshot). Ctrl + click to load the selection. Go to menu Select-> Inverse(Select -> Invert), invert the selection and fill the selected area in the layer mask with black. Apply an overlay parameter to the wave layer. GradientOverlay(Gradient overlay), apply the blending mode for this gradient Color (chromaticity).

Insert an image with a tire. Apply blend mode to it. Multiply (Multiplication) with Opacity (Opacity) 85% (in this case, you do not need to erase a white background). Go to menu Filter-> Blur-> Gaussian Blur (Filter -> Blur-> Gaussian Blur) 1px.

Create an adjustment layer Levels (Levels) as a clipping mask.

Insert the algae, separate it from the background, process the right edge with a soft transparent brush on the layer mask or with Eraser(Eraser).

Add adjustment layers GradientMap (Gradient map) and Levels(Levels)

Use the same adjustments for second algae.

Go back to the wave contour. Load the selection for this form again and fill it with any color on the new layer. Install Fill (Fill) 0%. Add a blending option GradientOverlay (Overlay gradient) to this layer. Move the center of the gradient (light part) slightly to the left.

Duplicate the previous layer, but change the settings for the blending parameters as in the screenshot below.

Insert a layer with bubbles, go to the menu Image -> Adjustment -> Black and White (Image -> Correction -> Black and White) in the parameter set, select the most contrast – High Contrast Blue Filter(High-contrast blue filter).

Add a layer mask to the layer with bubbles and fill the area above the wave contour with black.

Apply an overlay on this layer. Screen (Screen).

Create a new layer, set the blending mode. Multiply(Multiplication). Load the selection for the waveform again. Choose dark green translucent brushes (about 80% opacity). Walk along the top edge of the selected area with a dark green brush as in the screenshot below:

Insert an image with water lilies. Duplicate it. Use the bottom duplicate to create a shadow. Install Fill (Fill) 0% for this layer and apply the blending option GradientOverlay (Gradient overlay) with the following settings:

Apply adjustment layer ColorBalance (Color balance):

Adjust levels to make lilies a little lighter.

Insert a photo with a gentleman

Go to menu Edit-> Transform-> Flip Horizontal (Edit -> Transform -> Flip Horizontally)

Download the selection for the white background and delete it. you can use MagicWandTool (Magic Wand) with Tolerance (Tolerance) about 12, in selection mode Add to / Subtract(Add / Subtract). Transform the shape to make it smaller. Duplicate the human layer. Select the bottom copy with a man. Go to menu Edit-> Transform->FlipVertical(Edit -> Transform -> Flip Vertically) to create a layer with reflection.

Place this layer below the adjustment layer. Blackandwhite(Black and white) water surface with clipping mask. Also create a clipping mask for the layer with the reflection of the person. Add a layer mask for the layer with reflection, fill the layer mask with a black and white gradient to create a smooth transition. Install Opacity(Opacity) 70%.

Select all. Go to menu Select->SelectAll (Select -> All Layers). Then go Edit -> Copy Merged (Editing -> Copy merged data). Paste the merged layers onto the new layer, apply the blending mode Screen (Screen) with Opacity (Opacity) 70%. Insert an image with an air mattress, place it under the layer with the combined scene.

Add a layer mask to the layer with the merged scene and fill it with black. To create a dive effect, create a selection, as in the screenshot below, use Polygonal Lasso Tool (Polygonal Lasso). Fill the selection with white in the layer mask.

I changed the color tone and adjusted the levels for this shape using an adjustment layer with the following settings:

Duplicate the airbed. Use duplicate to create a reflection effect. For the lower duplicate, apply the overlay mode. Multiply (Multiplication) with Opacity (Opacity) 40%. Go to menu Filter> Blur> Gaussian Blur (Filter -> Blur-> Gaussian Blur) 2px

Insert image with crocodile.

Create a shadow effect. Duplicate the crocodile layer, fill the bottom layer with a dark blue color. Apply blend mode to layer Multiply(Multiplication) with Opacity (Opacity) 50%. Move this layer a couple of pixels down and to the right, erase the area around the swimming mattress.

In order to create a reflection from the swimming mattress on the body of a crocodile, duplicate the layer with the crocodile again. Apply a bright blue gradient to the top copy and erase most of the layer, except for the bottom.

Insert an image with a collar, remove the background and the back side of the form.

Turn the collar and apply the transformation to fit the crocodile’s neck. Adjust levels and saturation.

Create a leash contour with PenTool (Pen)

Select Brush tool(Brush), set one of the calligraphic brushes and set the color pink.

Make active again PenTool (Pen), right-click the leash outline and select Stroke path (Run outline stroke) checkbox Simulate pressure (Imitate push)

Download the outline of the leash. Create a new layer, apply blending mode. Multiply(Multiplication). Then choose a soft transparent brush of deep pink color. Brush the selection to create shadows.

To create a crocodile reflection on the mattress, select the head area, go Edit -> Copy Merged (Editing -> Copy merged data). Paste the selection to a new layer, flip vertically and move down.

Add a layer mask, fill it with a black and white gradient.

Add images with ducks. Separate them from the background and duplicate them to create reflections. As in the previous steps, flip the duplicated layers upside down and move down.

Add layer masks to layers with duck reflections and fill them with a linear black and white gradient.

Insert a second swimming mattress. You can change the color tone, as for the previous one or leave it green.

Erase the bottom of the mattress to immerse it in water.

Duplicate the circle and move it down to create a reflection. Install Opacity (Opacity) 50% and fill the layer mask with a black and white gradient.

Adjust the levels for the layer with reflection.

Insert image with iguana

Duplicate it, flip vertically and move below the circle reflection. Walk along the bottom of the reflection soft transparent EraserTool (Eraser). Install Opacity (Opacity) 70%

To create an index mark, select Rounded rectangle tool (Rectangle with rounded corners) and create two shapes – white and green smaller. Then place the text and just above the animal icon.

Create a sign holder also with Rounded rectangle tool (Rectangle with rounded corners) apply the same blending options as in the screenshot below. You can download the template here.

Merge the layers of the sign, apply a free and perspective transformation, follow the direction arrows.

Now highlight the whole scene, Copy merged (Copy merged data), paste to a new layer.

If you want to change the shade of the whole scene, give a more uniform shade, go to Image ->Adjustment– > Variations(Image -> Correction -> Options) and try different combinations of shades. I used Original(Original shade) + More Yellow (More yellow) + More Red (More red)

Then i installed Opacity (Opacity) 80% to the transformed layer to smooth a little filter options.

And here is the result!
