Create a new document (Ctrl + N) 1370 px in width and 1680 px in height, set the background color to transparent.
Step 2
In this step, we will create a background for the background. First, open the stock image ‘Background’ in Photoshop. Once this image has opened, select the tool Rectangular area (Rectangular marquee tool) by pressing the M key and using this tool create a selection around the sky image. See screenshot below:
Once you have created a selection around the sky image, press the V key to activate the tool. Move (Move Tool). Clamping this image with the left mouse button, move it to our working document. Position the image as shown in the screenshot below.
Step 3
Create a new layer (Ctrl + Shift + N) or in the bottom toolbar, just click the button New layer(New Layer) and then go Layer – Create clipping mask(Layer> Create clipping mask (Alt + Ctrl + G) to convert the new layer to an edge mask to the sky layer.
Select the brush tool and then apply the following values to the brush:
Brush size (Brush size): 500px
Rigidity (Hardness): 0%
Opacity (Opacity): 20%
Pressure (Flow): 100%
So, paint over the specified area.
Result:
Next, we will carry out the color correction of the image, for this we go Layer – New Adjustment Layer – Hue / Saturation (Layer> New Adjustment Layer> Hue / saturation). Apply the following values:
Color tone (Hue): 0
Saturation (Saturation): -38
Brightness (Lightness): 0
The result should be as in the screenshot below:
Step 4
We created the first part of the sky, then we will make the sky and the background more dramatic. To do this, we will add another stock image ‘Background 2’. Open this image in Photoshop, then copy and paste the copied image into our working document.
Make sure that this layer is on top of the ‘Base ’layer. To do this, hold down the layer with the left button, move the layer, placing it above the layer with the base of the background. Next, apply the transform as shown in the screenshot below.
The result of the transformation.
Next, to the layer with the background 2, add a layer mask that can be activated through the bottom toolbar. While on the layer layer mask, apply the specified area with a soft black brush, as shown in the screenshot below.
The result should be as in the screenshot below:
Step 5
So in this step, we will add a model to our working paper. First, open the stock image of the model. Separate the model image from the background. To do this, activate the tool Pen (Pen tool (P) to create a more accurate selection.
Convert the created contour around the model image to the active selection, and then press the V key to activate the tool Move (Move Tool). By pressing the selected image of the model with the left mouse button, move it to our working document. Apply scaling to the model image, placing it as shown in the screenshot below.
Name this layer ‘Model’.
Step 6
Let’s add a lighting effect to the model, to do this, create a new layer (Shift + Ctrl + N). Name this layer ‘light’. Move this layer down, placing it below the model layer. Choose a soft white brush (B) with an opacity of 20% and pressing 100%. Carefully paint over the model.
Result:
Step 7
Create another new layer (Shift + Ctrl + N), this layer should be located on top of the model layer. Let’s enhance the lighting effect by lightening the contour of the model to emphasize the background lighting effect.
Select the brush tool and then apply the following values to the brush:
Brush size (Brush size): 6-12px
Rigidity (Hardness): 0%
Opacity (Opacity): 20%
Pressure (Flow): 100%
Zoom in and carefully paint over the contour of the face, shoulders, and also some parts of the dress, as shown in the screenshot below.
The result should be as in the screenshot below:
Step 8
So, to make the light highlights on the edges look more natural, we use the tool Finger (smudge tool) and with this tool, we will blur the edges. In the screenshot below, you can see my result.
Continue to blur various areas until you get the desired result.
Step 9
Next, let’s make a model correction using a correction layer. Hue / Saturation (Hue and Saturation). Let’s go Layer – New Adjustment Layer – Hue / Saturation (Layer> New Adjustment Layer> Hue and Saturation), convert this adjustment layer to a clipping mask.
Color tone(Hue): 0
Saturation(Saturation): -10
Brightness(Lightness): 0
So group all the layers you created. Name this group ‘Model’.
Step 10
Create a new layer. Choose a tool Brush (brush tool (B). Load brush ‘Snow’.
Select brush # 197 and on, apply the following values to the brush:
Brush size (Brush size): 700 – 1200px
Rigidity (Hardness): 0%
Opacity (Opacity): 100%
Pressure (Flow): 100%
Apply an arbitrary brush on the new layer, when brushing, make sure that the snow does not look straight or knotted or anything else that may cause an implausible look. Remove snowflakes that distract the observer’s attention with the tool. Eraser (Eraser tool).
Step 11
Further, being on a layer with the drawn snow, we go Filter – Blur – Motion Blur (Filter> Blur> Motion Blur). Apply the following values.
Angle(Angle): -30
Bias(Distance): 5 px
The result of applying the filter Motion blur (motion blur):
Group the layers, name the group ‘Snow’.
Step 12
Open the image ‘Light highlights’. Select the light flare # 4, copy and paste on our working paper. Apply scaling by positioning the image with a highlight, as shown in the screenshot below.
Step 13
Next, change the blending mode for the layer with the light flare to Lightening (Screen). Result:
With the help of light highlights, we will enhance the lighting of our scene. You can always use the highlights to enhance the background lighting to create a dramatic effect.
Group all layers. Name the group “Highlights”.
Step 14
In the next step, we will enhance the color shades of the entire image. We will add darker shades to create an artistic finish. Let’s start by adding a correction layer. Colour(Solid Color). To do this, in the bottom toolbar, click Create new corrective layer or layer-fill(New Fill layer / Adjustment layer). When the adjustment layer window appears Colour (Solid Color), set the color tint # 424142.
Step 15
Change the blending mode for this adjustment layer to Soft light (Soft Light), reduce the layer opacity to 20%. The result should be as in the screenshot below:
Step 16
Next, add another adjustment layer. Colour (Solid Color). When the adjustment layer window appears Colour (Solid Color), set the color tone to # 6d7378. Change the blending mode for this adjustment layer to Soft light (Soft Light), layer opacity should remain at 100%.
The result should be as in the screenshot below:
Step 17
Next, add the last adjustment layer. Colour (Solid Color). When the adjustment layer window appears Colour (Solid Color), set the shade to # 5b7aa4.
Result:
Step 18
Next, create an adjustment layer. Color Balance (Color Balance), this correction can be activated through the bottom toolbar. When the adjustment layer settings window appears Color Balance (Color Balance), apply the following values:
Shadows (Shadows): + 5.0, -5
Mid tones (Midtones): 0,0,0
Color Balance (Color Balance): -8, +15, +27
Result:
Step 19
Finally, let’s enhance the color shades with a correction layer. Photo Filter (Photo Filter). Let’s go Layer – New Adjustment Layer – Photo Filter (Layer> New Adjustment layer> Photo Filter).
Step 20
In the last step, let’s add an adjustment layer. Curves (Curves). Let’s go Layer – New Adjustment Layer – Curves (Layer> New Adjustment layer> Curves).
Output(Output): 36
entrance (Input): 31
