In this tutorial we will try to create the effect of toxic 3D text.
Step 1. Create a new document (Ctrl +N), sizes 900×500 pix and 72 ppi.
Fill it with black (D, Alt +Backspace). Create a new layer (Shift +Ctrl +Alt +N) and name it, for example, “Design 3D Text”.
Take the tool “Horizontal text” (Horizontal Type Tool (T)), font, for example, set Verdana, font size 120 pt., method anti-aliasing – Smooth, Colour – #0DBC6B. (Optionally, you can choose any text size.)
Write the word you need, for example, your name.
Step 2. Click on the text layer two times, thereby invoking the “Layer Style” window.
Set the following settings:
Here’s what happens:
Step 3. Duplicate the text layer (Ctrl +J). Then create a new layer (Shift +Ctrl +Alt +N). Merge both layers, duplicate text and new layer (holding the key Ctrl, select two layers and click Ctrl +E). After this technique, the text layer turned into a regular layer to which you can apply the Layer Style again.
Now place this layer (on the layers palette) below the layer with the first text. Tool “Moving”(V), move this layer down a bit.
Step 4. Apply to this layer a layer style. Settings in the Layer Style, like the first layer with the text. You can just copy layer style at the layer with the text and to paste on this layer.
Step 5. Now you need to merge the layers with the text. Holding the key Ctrl, select two layers with text on the layers palette. Go to Menu – Layer – Merge layers. Or just click Ctrl +E.
Call the Layer Style window and set the following settings there:
* Pattern- “Herringbone 2” *
Here’s what happens:
Step 6. Duplicate the layer with your label. Create a new layer and merge it with a duplicate. Place the resulting layer (on the layers palette) below the layer with your inscription.
Tool “Moving”(V), move this layer down a bit.
Apply layer style to it:
* to achieve the same result as in the screenshot, change the Opacity and Size *
Step 7. Create a new layer. Draw a brush Oval, Colour white, the size 15-18px..
Oval brushes are in the standard set of Photoshop, in the tab Calligraphy brushes (you just need to add them). You can also draw an oval in any convenient way for you and fill it with white. It is desirable that the form was close to the oval.
Step 8. Apply layer style to this layer:
Now change this layer Overlay Mode on “Darker” and reduce opacity layer up 49%.
It should turn out like this:
* If another brush imprint is placed on the same layer, the white mugs in the middle will disappear *
Step 9. Duplicate this layer (Ctrl +J). Resize the duplicate using Free Transform (Ctrl +T). Return the opacity of this layer to 100% and place it as shown in the screenshot.
Step 10. Duplicate this layer a few more times. Change for these layers: size, layer opacity and position.
Step 11. Now it remains for you to decorate the text completely. Use Free transformation and layer opacity, to achieve interesting result.
In the end, here’s what you have, approximately succeed.
Good luck in doing the lesson.
