From this lesson you will learn how to use Layer Styles on three text layers, and a modified simple Paintbrush to create a brilliant glossy text effect.

Create a new document with the size of 1152 x 864, set the foreground color to # 00336e and the background color to # 000f1f. Activate the tool Gradient (Gradient Tool), click on the icon Radial Gradient (Radial Gradient) in the toolbar, then click and drag the cursor from the center of the document to one of the corners.
Place the image of the texture on top of the background layer, change its size so (Ctrl + T) to fit the document, then change Blend mode (Blend Mode) on Overlap (Overlay).
Click on the icon Create a new adjustment layer or fill layer (Create new fill or adjustment layer) at the bottom of the layers panel, and select Hue / Saturation (Hue / Saturation).
Change the value Color tone (Hue) to 83 and Saturation (Saturation) to 38.
Write the text in color # 8f720c using the Mom font. The font size should be about 320 pixels.
Duplicate the layer twice (Ctrl + J), now you have 3 text layers. Change the last one (the second instance), set the Fill value to 0.
Double click on the text layer to add Layer styles (Layer Style).
Stamping (Bevel and Emboss): change Style (Style) – Contour embossing (Stroke Emboss), Size (Size) to 8, Contour (Gloss Contour) – Inverted cone (Cone – Inverted) check the Anti-aliased checkbox and change the Mode backlight (highlight mode) to overlap (overlay).
Circuit (Contour): Select Invert – Gaussian (Guassian – Inverse) and check the Anti-aliased box.
Texture (Texture): select the pattern of small crosses (you can download it at the beginning of the lesson).
Stroke (Stroke): Change the Size to 8 and the color to # 9b2ab3.
Shadow (Drop Shadow): change the Distance to 13, Spread to 23, and Size to
This will create a stroke to the text.
Double-click on the first copy of the text layer (center) and apply the following Layer styles (Layer Style).
Stamping (Bevel and Emboss): change Depth to 130, Size 18, uncheck Use Global Light, and change Angle to 70 and Altitude to 65. Also check Anti-aliased checkbox and change the Highlight Mode to Linear Light.
Circuit (Contour): Select Half Round, and check the Anti-aliased box.
Inner shadow (Inner Shadow): Change the color to # 84848, Distance to 0 and Size to 27.
Internal glow (Inner Glow): Change Blend Mode (Blend Mode) to Overlay, Color # fbeec1, Source (Source) – From Center (Center), Drag (Choke) to 26, and Size (Size) to 70.
Gloss (Satin): Change Blend Mode (Blend Mode) to Vivid Light, color # c5c323, Angle to –40, Offset (Distance) to 40, Size 128, and Gloss Contour – Deep groove (Cove-Deep).
Pattern overlay (Pattern Overlay): Select the Metallic Pattern (you can download it at the beginning of the lesson), change the Blending Mode (Blend Mode) to Overlay, Opacity to 15, and Scale to 25.
Shadow (Drop Shadow): change the Offset (Distance) to 0 and the Size (Size) to 16.
This will create an internal glow of the text.
Double-click on the second copy of the text layer (the one above) to apply the following Layer styles (Layer Style).
Stamping (Bevel and Emboss): Change Depth (Depth) to 337, Direction (Direction) – Down (Down), Size (Size) to 32, uncheck the box Use Global Light, and change the Angle (Angle) -146 and Altitude to 58. Also, change the Highlight Mode to Linear Light, Opacity to 65%, and Shadow Mode, Opacity to 13%.
Circuit (Contour): Select Half Round and check the Anti-aliased box.
Texture (Texture): Select the Diagonal Noise (you can download it at the beginning of the lesson), and change the Depth to 6. This will add a subtle satin, glossy effect.
This completes the main text effect.
Select the Brush tool and open the brush settings window Window-> Brush (Window-> Brush). Select the “Star 26 pixels” brush (“Star 26 pixels”), then change its settings as shown below:

Right-click on any of the text layers, then select, Create work path (Create Work Path).
Create a new layer on top of the original text layer (Ctrl + Shift + N) and name it “Sparks”. Set the Foreground color to # fd79ff and the Background color to # fbfb9f. Then select the tool Outline selection (Direct Selection Tool).
Right click on Working way and select Perform a stroke (Stroke Path).
Choose a tool Brush from the drop-down menu and click OK.
This will create a stroke with the modified brush. Click Enter, to get rid of the way.
Duplicate the “Iskra” layer and change Blend mode (Blend Mode) copies on Linear light
Finally, select the original Sparkle layer, then apply a Filter. Filter-> Blur-> Radial blur (Filter-> Blur-> Radial Blur). Change the Amount to 75, and select Blur Method – Zoom. This will add a sparkle salute effect.
