Create a “Freddy Kruger” text effect in Photoshop

3. How to add an eye

We are almost done. As a final touch, let’s add an eyeball under the text layer. If the result without an eye suits you, you can stop there.

Step 1

Move on File – Place (File – Place) and select the downloaded image with the eye. Hit Enter to put it on the working paper.

Step 2

Now move the layer with the eye under the text layer. To do this, activate the layer with the eye on the layers panel and go Layer – Arrange – Send Backward (Layers – Arrange – Move back).

Step 3

Press Ctrl + T and adjust the position of the eye using the arrow keys or the mouse. When finished, click Enter to apply the changes. Here is the final result.

In this tutorial, you learned how to create a text effect in the style of Freddy Krueger films in Photoshop.

We started by creating a document, then placed a text layer on it. After that added layer styles to the text, due to which they achieved the desired effect. And at the end added an eyeball.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, and don’t forget to save the layer style settings for future ideas.
