Pokemon Go is a very famous game and people around the world go crazy about it. Pokemon text style, which appears in the title, looks great and is easy to reproduce in Photoshop. In today’s tutorial, I will show you how to create a Pokemon text effect in Photoshop. We will use the Pokemon font, and after that we will make the font the same as we see in the name of the Pokemon using the blending options.
After reading this tutorial, you can make your own Pokemon text effect and add it to yourself. This lesson can be done in any version of Photoshop, so let’s get started right now!
Create a new document in Photoshop. Go to menu File> New (File> New) and set the width to 1280 px and height to 720 px.
Here are the settings:
Set foreground color # b9e09c. Now go to Edit> Fill (Edit> Run Fill) and in the drop-down list select Foreground color (Main color). This will fill the background layer. # b9e09 color. You can also press Alt + Backspace to fill the background with the color mentioned above.
The following is a green filled document:
Download font Pokemon and install it on your computer. Activate Type tool (Horizontal text) (T) and select the installed Pokemon font. Now enter the text “Pokemon” using black color. You can enter your own text or name to which you want to apply this text style. Name this layer “Text Shadow”.
In the toolbar options Type tool (Horizontal text) (see image below), set the size to 237.05 pt. On the right side of the panel, click on the icon. Text center (Text in the center) to align the text in the center on the background layer. You can also use the free transform mode (Ctrl + T) to zoom in and make it correspond to the center of the background.
Here is the result:
Now apply the blending options to the text and turn it into a Pokemon text style. Right click on the text and select Blending options (Overlay options). Check the option Stroke (Stroke) and enter the following parameters.
In the settings above, you may notice that I did not use color in Fill type (Fill Type). Instead of color, I used Gradient (Gradient). I chose gradient transition from dark blue # 263159 mid blue # 2d659e and # 263159. You can see the gradient settings in the image below.
Below is the result:
The effect we achieved will work as a shadow for our original text. Now enter the same text again, but this time above the layer. Remember to use the same size and color for the text. If you want, you can duplicate the text, and then right-click on it and select Clear layer style (Clear layer style) to remove the applied effects.
Below you can see that I typed the text again.
Now apply a layer style. Stroke (Stroke) to this text with color # 395faa. You can see the rest of the settings in the figure below.
Now apply the effect. Inner shadow (Inner shadow) using # c7a008.
Result with added yellow inner shadow:
Finally, change the text color using the style Color overlay (Overlay Color). Check this option and use color. # ffcb05.
Thank you for completing the lesson. I hope you enjoyed the tutorial, and now you can make your Pokemon text style in Photoshop. I wish you a great day!
