In this lesson, I will show you how to create a stunning ultra glossy text.
Create a new document of 700×700 pixels with a resolution of 72 dpi. As a background, I will use the texture of wood. Discolor texture (Shift + Ctrl + U). Due to this, the texture will become slightly darker. Add a fill layer to the texture layer. Gradient (Layer> New Fill Layer> Gradient) (Layer> New Fill Layer> Gradient). Adjust the gradient as shown below:
Fill layer Gradient (Gradient) is needed to darken the top and bottom of the wooden texture.
You can use any font to create this text effect, but I’m a fan of a font called “Lobster”, and that is what I will use to create text. Choose a tool Horizontal text(Horizontal Type Tool) (T) and write any text.
Let’s add layer styles to the text layer. And let’s start with the layer style. Shadow (Drop Shadow).
Now apply a layer style. External glow (Outer Glow):
Stamping (Bevel and Emboss):
Double click on Gloss contour (Gloss Contour) and create a contour. It may not be like my outline, the main thing in this business is to focus on your text.
Add a bit of blue to the text by applying layer styles. Color overlay (Color Overlay) and Gradient overlay (Gradient Overlay). You will not see the blue tint immediately, but only after adding another layer style. Pattern overlay (Pattern Overlay).
Gradient overlay (Gradient Overlay):
For layer style Overlapping pattern (Pattern Overlay) I used the image of the city.
Bleach the image (Shift + Ctrl + U). Apply to this image spherization filter (Filter> Distortion> Spherization) (Filter> Distort> Spherize): degree of spherization – 100%.
Also apply Radial Blur (Filter> Blur> Radial Blur) (Filter> Blur> Radial Blur): the degree of blurring is 15%.
Create a texture from this image via the menu. Editing> Define a pattern (Edit> Define Pattern), and name this texture “Texture 1”. Now add a layer style to the text layer. Overlapping pattern (Pattern Overlay), and from the drop-down list with textures, select the texture you created from the image.
Without closing the window with the layer style Pattern overlay (Pattern overlay), you can tool Move (Move Tool) (V), move the overlayed pattern on the text as you like most. Now you can click OK.
The last layer style to add to the text is Stroke (Stroke). Stroke type – Gradient (create a gradient using the colors you see in the picture).
As a final touch, add a little shine to the text with a soft white brush. Draw a few spots on the text – this will be the glow. Shine layer with above text layer.
That’s all! Ultra glossy text ready!
