In this lesson I will show the process of creating a spectacular and unusual text, with elements of light, but in a different interpretation.
This lesson is pretty simple, but at the same time, it will be hard for beginners, it is also built mainly on work with gradient and transformation.
To create this work, I used Adobe Photoshop CS2, as it is more understandable and convenient for me.
Here is what we can get in the final result:
So, let’s begin:
Step 1. Create a new layer size 800x 800 pixels., Background content: transparent. Next, click (D), this we expose the standard set of 2 color foreground and background, respectively. Next, click (X), this we change their places. Next, select our single layer and press (Ctrl + BackSpace), thereby we paint it with black color by default and call for example: Background_1
Step 2. Go to the properties of this layer (Overlay options) and look for such a tick as a gradient, and set the following settings, as shown in the figure below:
Step 3. Take the tool Text (T) and select the area in the middle of our background. Inside this area I wrote the word RINH in black (how to choose the standard I wrote above), applied the font 28 Days Later to it and set the size of this text to 210 pt, that’s what happened:
Step 4. Then I decided not to work with the text itself, but with its shape, which I cut out from the picture. To do this, upload any existing image, move it to our work between layers (Background_1 and RINH), and rename to (Picture), align under the text as you like, then press (Ctrl) + (Left mouse button on the thumbnail of RINH) , a layer selection should appear.
Next you need to select a layer (Picture) and copy this selection on it (Ctrl + C). After that create a new layer and paste the copied image (Ctrl + V).
Give the name of the new layer: (RINH_CUT UP).
After that, remove the layer RINH
Also, for the beauty of this text from the picture, I worked with the layer settings. Added and configured embossing, shadows, both internal and external, glow.
As a result, you should have the following:
Step 5. So, we have 2 layers. (Background_1) and (RINH_CUT). In order to make this text voluminous, it is necessary to give it the effect of embossing and transformation in the form of distortion.
Select the layer (RINH_CUT UP), then go to Editing \ Transformation \ Distortion. Take the lower left square and pull it up and slightly to the right as shown in the figure:
Step 6. Create smoke. In the final our picture was more voluminous and shining we need to do the following operations:
Create a new layer on top of all layers and call it CLOUD.
Next, go to Filter \ Rendering \ Clouds and apply the Hard Light overlay style to it. We erase all unnecessary and as a result we get the following:
Step 7. Create a reflection.
In order to create a reflection of the text, it is necessary to duplicate the RINH_CUT CUT once and rename it to RINH_Reflect. Next, we reflect this image horizontally and with the help of transformation we turn it over like this:
Next, apply a gradient to the same reflection, BUT !!! On the mask layer.
To do this, take a layer RINH_Reflect, add a “layer mask” to it, and then take gradient (G) 000000 – ffffff and do as shown:
Step 8. Let’s make a star shine around the text. To do this, create a new brush. Take Soft round brush and create from it a new one. Go to the settings of this brush. We expose scattering, smoothing, as you like. The figure below shows an example of such a brush and my settings.
This layer with the stars is moved just above the layer BACKGROUND_1. And if this star is not enough for you, apply to them the effect of external glow that is in the layer settings.
The result is this:
Step 9. Create a text overflow. For this, I used a brush of fire.
I painted brushes in white and added a gradient to them.
So in order:
Create the left side of the text. To do this, add another 1 layer on top of all layers and name it (Fire_L). Draw a fire there as shown in the figure and apply only a gradient to it.
Next, duplicate the layer. Slightly reduce it in size by about 3% and also apply a gradient overlay to it.
In the end, I did this operation several times. And in the end I got this:
Step 10. Create a background. I took a variety of brushes – from flowers to smoke. And again I imposed a gradient on them. The result is this:
In principle, this could have been completed, but I went further and made the picture even more saturated. For this, I created on top of all layers a new one. He painted it black. Applied a gradient to it (3f4c6b-3f4c6b, base lightning, 90 *) with blending mode: Saturation:
Added frames and it turned out this:
Also here are some more variations of such gradient manipulations:
