Make a gradient text in Photoshop

In this tutorial we’ll draw cool text in Photoshop.

At the beginning, create a new document. 300×500 pix fill it with color # 1a142c.

After that create a new layer, select the tool Elliptical Marquee Tool (oval selection), create a selection, as in the image below and fill it with another color # 6d56b2.

Deselect Ctrl + D and apply Filter> Blur> Gaussian Blur (Filter-Blur-Blur Gaussian) with the following settings:

Change the layer opacity to 70%

Ok, we are done with the background, and now let’s start creating a text effect! Select Horizontal type tool (horizontal text) and write the letter P typeface KabelBd any color.

After that apply the following blending modes for the layer with the text:
Drop Shadow (Shadow)
Outer Glow (Outer Glow)
Gradient Overlay (Gradient Overlay)
Stroke (Stroke)

The result can be seen in the figure below.

After that, right-click on the layer in the layers palette and select Copy Layer Style (Copy Layer Styles)

Under the letter layer P write another letter H.

Then right-click on the layer in the layers palette and select Paste Layer Style (Paste Layer Styles).

The result should be as follows:

Add more letters on the same principle.

Good looking, right? To complete the lesson, we will add several figures to the background. Now, using Custom shape tool (Free-form) select the shape of a star, as in the picture below, a gallery of standard shapes.

Add this star to the back.

After that set the fill to 0% and apply the layer style Stroke (Stroke)

Your picture should look like this:

Add more stars on the same principle. And your text will look something like this:

Our lesson is over!
