In this tutorial we will create a text in the style of the movie “Star Wars”.
Materials for the lesson:
Step 1. Create a new document with black fill. The author has created a document of size. 1024–768.
Step 2.Before we begin, we need to find and install a Star Wars-style font. You can archive it.
To install the font – you need a file with the extension .ttf copy to folder Fonts (usually located C: \ WINDOWS \ Fonts). Select the font that you just installed and write our text. “CLONEWARS“.
Step 3. Double click on the text layer to enter the “Layer Style” menu (Blending options). Here set the parameters as in the pictures:
Step 4. Then, you must duplicate the text layer. (Ctrl + J) and apply the following layer style settings to the layer:
Step 5. Set fill ( Fill ) for the second layer with text on 0%.
Step 6. Now add some more text. ”THE“, and apply the following layer style settings to it (Layerstyle).
Step 7. In the next step, we will use the Rectangle tool. (Rectangle Tool), to make some rectangular shapes. Each on a separate layer.
Step 8. Now for all three rectangular shapes, apply the following layer style settings:
Step 9. Create a new layer above all layers and name it “Gold“. Merge all previous layers into one (Ctrl+E) – except the background.
Ctrl + click on the merged layer to create a selection.
Step 10. Next, go to the menu item Selection – Modification – Expand (Select – Modify – Expand) and expand the selection to 3 pixels.
Step 11. Fill the selection with yellow (# fcff00). Before you fill, make sure that you have selected a layer “Gold“.
Step 12. Set to layer “Gold“ blending mode Soft light (Soft Light) and opacity 35%.
Step 13. Create a new layer and name it. “Texture“. Fill it with that color (# 7e4f2f). Then go to the menu item Filter – Noise – Add Noise (Filter – Noise – Add noise) and apply the parameters as in the pictures:
Step 14. After that go to the menu item Filter – Blur – Blur in motion (Filter – Blur – Motion Blur) and apply the following parameters:
Step 15. Apply another filter to this texture. Go to the menu item Filter – Sharpness – Contour sharpness (Filter – Sharpen – Unsharp Mask) and apply the following parameters:
Step 16. Ctrl + cry on a layer “Gold”, to create a selection. Now select the layer “Texture“ and add a vector mask to it. Set the layer blending mode to Overlap (Overlay).
Step 17. Now we will add another texture to our text.
The author imported the texture into the document and resized it so that it fit the size of the image we need. Next, go to the menu item Image – Correction – Desaturate (Image – Adjustments – Desaturate)
Step 18. Repeat the actions we did in step 16, only this time to a different texture.
Step 19. Set the blending mode for the layer to Overlap (Overlay) and set the mode opacity layer 63%.
The final
So we finished !!!! If you want, you can add more light or shadows to the resulting text.
