Text from the buns in Photoshop

In this Photoshop tutorial, I will show you how to create interesting text from bakery products. To create this text, we use several stock images with bakery products, which we transform into our text. So let’s try!

Note: This lesson is done in Photoshop CC – so some screenshots may differ slightly from previous versions of the program. Some brushes are only available in this version of Photoshop CS6.

Step 1

Create a new document with the following dimensions 1400px * 800px, the background color is white. Download the original image “Croissant 1 ?. Create a selection around the croissant image:

Copy / paste the selected croissant image onto our working paper. Apply scaling, and also rotate the croissant so that the croissant resembles the shape of the letter “C”, as shown in the screenshot below:

Next, with the tool Eraser (eraser), remove the shadows around the croissant:

Now to the “C” layer, add two adjustment layers as clipping masks:

Levels (Levels)

Curves (Curves)

Step 2

Next, we will create the letter “A”. Download the original image of “Roll 2” in Photoshop. Create a selection around the image of the loaf:

Copy / paste the selected image of the roll onto our working paper. Apply scaling by turning the loaf, as shown in the screenshot below:

Create a duplicate layer by mirroring the duplicate layer horizontally:

Create another duplicate layer with a bun to complete the creation of the letter “A”:

Step 3

In this step, we will create the letter “F”. Download the original image of “Baton 3” in Photoshop. Create a selection around the image of the loaf:

Copy / paste the selected image of the loaf on our working paper. Apply scaling by turning the loaf, as shown in the screenshot below:

Repeat the previous step, adding two more loaf fragments:

So, we created the letter “F”:

Step 4

In this step, we will create the letter “Y”. Download the original image of “Bread 4” in Photoshop. Create a selection around the bread image:

Copy / paste the selected image of bread onto our working paper. Apply scaling as well as using Deformations (warp), create a curved shape, as shown in the screenshot below:

Repeat the previous step, adding another piece of bread on the left side:

Next, add another piece of bread, placing it at the bottom of the letter:

Result at the moment:

Step 5

Next, we add jam to our text from the bread. Download the original image with strawberry jam. Using tool Lasso (Lasso Tool), create a selection around the jam:

Copy / paste the selected jam image onto our working paper. Apply scaling by placing the jam over the top of the letter “C”:

Lightly apply Deformation (Warp):

Next, apply the filter Plastics (Liquify Filter). Set the following settings for the brush:

My result after applying the filter Plastics (liquify):

Repeat the previous step by adding jam to the other letters:

Step 6

We have almost completed the lesson! As a final touch, apply Clouds brushes, adding clouds around the letters:

You can also add colors using an adjustment layer. Color Balance (color balance) – here, I suggest you to experiment.

My result in the screenshot below.

So, we have completed the lesson. Hope you enjoyed this tutorial. I wish you a good day and see you soon!
