We write honey in Photoshop

Images used in the lesson:

Create a new document in Photoshop, about 900 pixels wide.
Open the image of the pancake, transfer it to the center of the composition.

Apply the following styles to the background layer.

Type the text in any handwritten font. I used Brush Script std.

Play with warp, to create a more natural handwriting and flowing text. Or you can draw a sweet text yourself. brush (brush) without using any fonts.

Round the outlines of the letters with a round brush

You can add more elements – for example, a heart. Create it with Pen (Pen tool) and Convert anchor point (Convert Point Tool).

Customize brush (brush) Putting a tick on the Dynamics of the form in the Palette of brushes, then right-click on the contour and select Contour Stroke (Stroke Path), don’t forget to tick on Simulate Pressure.

Create droplets small round little brush (brush).

Create a wave effect with a filter. Plastic (Liquify) – tools Warp (Forward Warp Tool) and Turbulence (Turbulence Tool).

Create four copies of the text layer, set a fill for each (fill) 0%.
Apply the following effects to the bottommost text layer.

Inner shadow:

Internal luminescence:

Stamping / bevel

Second copy add layer style Stamping (Bevel and Emboss).

Apply the following settings to the third copy:

Stamping / bevel:

Pattern Overlay:

Add the highest text copy with the following layer styles:

Inner shadow:

Stamping / bevel:

Load the selection layer with text (Ctrl + Click on the layer thumbnail).
Create a new layer below all the text layers and fill the selection with a dark brown color.
Apply filter Gaussian Blur to the created layer. To create a shadow, move this layer down a bit and left.
Again load the selection of the layer with the text, delete the selected area on the layer with the shadow.
You will get a blurred dark outline around the text.

Set a layer with a shadow overlay mode Line Dimmer ( Linear burn) with an opacity of 40%.
Add a mask to the layer and fill it with black, show shadows only in areas where the honey is “poured” more and thicker, using soft white brush (brush) on the layer mask.

Upload a silhouette image of honey drops. Create a honey effect like we did for the text layer.

Create four copies, but do not apply the Inner shadow style to the first layer. You can see the rest of the layer styles in the PSD file.

Pancake and the inscriptions on it look flat, you need to put it on a plate.
Select a plate using the tool Ovalregion (Elliptical Marquee Tool). Copy the plate and paste into the working paper under the layer with the pancake.

Duplicate the layer with the plate, transfer the duplicate above the layer with the pancake, but below the layers with honey text and honey drops.
Set duplicate blend mode Linear Burn with an opacity of 65%.

Adjust Levels for this layer.

Load the selection of the original plate, but also grab into the selection the area where there should be a shadow, blend the selection: Select> Modify> Feather (Select> Modify> Feature), Set a value of 3.5 – 5 pixels.
Insert a plate with a shadow under the first plate. The blend mode for this layer is Multiply (Multiply) and the opacity is 65%.

You will get this result:

Go to the layer with the pancake. Download a text selection with a heart and invert it: Select> Invert (Select> Invert).

With the active selection, being on a layer with a pancake, lighten the pancake using Levels (Levels).

Invert the selection again, apply these settings. Levels to the text and heart:

Apply style to the pancake layer Shadow (Drop shadow).

Show the clarity of the texture of the pancake: Filter> Sharpness> Smart Sharpen (Filter> Sharpen> Smart Sharpen).

You can duplicate the layer with the pancake, rotate and place below the original, to create an effect, as in the image below:

Load other honey drops, place between the plate layer and its shadow.
Create four copies, as we did for the honey text, but use the other layer style settings for the lowest copy.

Apply these settings to the bottom layer with drops:

Internal luminescence:

Stamping / bevel:

Color overlay:

And here is the result!
